Truly, we have a second home on the water and I'd never use H towels for that.

Joking aside, although it was honest too, I'd only buy them as superficial "decor" on a yacht or draped on lounge chairs.

I have been looking online (I am crazy and like to do my Christmas shopping early) and the beach towels caught my eye so I started looking at them. My kids and I are beach lovers in the extreme, and the kids looooove Hermes. So it would be a super cute Christmas gift.

I think I saw someone post recently that the H towels weren’t great but I searched and could not find an actual review of the beach towels. My specific questions would be - 1. how do they wear if you take them to an actual beach with sand and dirt (vs a clean beach club environ) 2. Are they soft 3. Do they wash well + stay soft

H's beach towels are not as iconic as their scarves or handbags.

Check out a swimwear brand called Vilebrequin. This is their forte.

I have one of the beach towels as well and its not softer than other towels, but it’s pretty thick and I love the colors/pattern on it. That being said, it’s used mostly for display draped on a lounge chair or worn to/from the beach or pool. I think it’s a fun gift idea though! Something that your kids might not buy for themselves but lovely to receive as a thoughtful gift!!

Hermes towels with classic scarf designs have been sold in used condition at auctions in the past. So I guess they also hold their value somewhat. I was surprised to see that there is a market for used towels to be honest, but I'm not judging.

I had the exact same reaction at first. $700 for a towel? But I ended up getting one (okay, maybe more than one 🙈) and honestly… I kind of love them. They’re not your super plush fluffy towels, but they have a really luxe thick feel and hold up surprisingly well even at sandy real beaches, not just beach clubs. Mine have been through a ton of use with kids, sand, sunscreen, and all. They wash fine too, just use cold water and skip high heat. They’re not cloud soft, but definitely nicer than average.

Omg. I love you for replying!! Which ones do you have? The regular ones or the yacht ones?
