(I swear I searched first 😬)

I was offered beach towels in France and laughed about it because it seemed like a ridiculous purchase. I mean who buys beach towels for $700? Well ok, so maybe I do?

I have been looking online (I am crazy and like to do my Christmas shopping early) and the beach towels caught my eye so I started looking at them. My kids and I are beach lovers in the extreme, and the kids looooove Hermes. So it would be a super cute Christmas gift.

I think I saw someone post recently that the H towels weren’t great but I searched and could not find an actual review of the beach towels. My specific questions would be - 1. how do they wear if you take them to an actual beach with sand and dirt (vs a clean beach club environ) 2. Are they soft 3. Do they wash well + stay soft

Thank you!!😘😘

I have a LOT of H beach towels. Like, twenty or thirty. To be honest, I wouldn't dream of dropping $700 on a beach towel that will get sand, surf, and sunscreen on it; these towels came with my beach house when I bought it.

Mine have definitely been used at the beach, and I don't think any special care has been taken; our housekeeper just puts them in the wash (on cold, we wash everything on cold if it doesn't need to be sanitized). They still look good, a little bit of color fading, but they are not super soft. I love them, to be honest; they are pretty and fun; it's just not a purchase I would have made myself.

That said, given that even a Missoni beach towel is like $250 or something, I think if you love the beach that much and love H, the towels are a fun gift.

HTH :flowers:

I can't review them as I haven't purchased them.
We spend way too much on luxury goods, but the only way I'd spend that on a towel is if it was on my yacht ;) lol
Truly, we have a second home on the water and I'd never use H towels for that.

Joking aside, although it was honest too, I'd only buy them as superficial "decor" on a yacht or draped on lounge chairs.

Not my priority, but I can see if someone loved the pattern and loved the beach, why not. . .

If I’m on a beach, I just use resort towels and a cheap raffia bag. Bc I will get sunscreen or stuff on it.

But, then again, many of us buy designer shoes that can be more expensive, yet get less use

Now, if Hermes made a sturdy, not too huge, comfy, potholder in a fun pattern like Tigre royale, I would buy that lol.

The “loops” are really long and this leads them to have crazy pulls even brand new in the plastic bags at the boutique.

I was planning to buy one this summer for the yacht club but ended up disappointed with how boardy they felt and how easily they got pulls.

The prints however are beautiful!

Price wise they aren’t crazier than anything else at H. 🤣

Omg. Pot holders and kitchen tea towels would be my undoing. My husband would have to step in and take my cc.
