Barenia Kelly offer from boutique with cracks next to stitching - advice needed

Thank you all for your answers and especially the insights. I have not yet decided - I am just so torn and the hardware truly is not the big issue or the smaller size but rather my worries about the cracks. Since I’m not a fan of buying from a reseller my options are pretty much depending on whether more push offers come into the direction of the store.


Sure I would regret if a K32 in the exact right specs would all of the sudden appear in the store. But since I have been waiting for over 5 years, I highly doubt that all of the sudden another Barenia shows up. Also, I had a call with the SA today and she said that she does not believe that a K32 is even produced in Barenia anymore - at least not in smooth Barenia.




Maybe my dreams will guide me a way tonight... Eventhough most of you say that I should move away from the bag and wait for the next offer, my FOMOB (fear of missing out Barenia) already set in This is why my decisions feels so though - and yes I know that this is so out of place considering the many issues that a lot of people face nowadays.

K32 in smooth Barenia will not come in, not this year; the K28 is likely the largest bag currently made in smooth Barenia - even the B30, according to my SM, is not currently produced.

K25 in Barenia we are seeing a lot (relatively!), so if you would like that bag it's a better chance than usual...but your SA will know much better how many push offers are likely to come in to your store.

That is so insightful, thank you! Knowing that it’s not a defect that will lead to structual issues later on is a bit of a relief. I hope to find that thread soon.

Do you still have the K28 return Togo Gold with the issues? If so, how has it held up?

Not a defect reads good. Although I wonder how such bags can even make its way to the store. Many moons ago this would not have happened.

Yes I have it and it’s in perfect condition nothing different from my other B/K ! A pic from what I have on my bag all over front flap and also front straps to close the bag

Wow, you nailed it - sometimes I am very prone to FOMOB, too. Just did not have a fitting name for it yet 😂

I wish you the best decision for you on this! Agree with @880 , if you could see it in person, it might just click for you. One way or the other.

I'll give you my opinion.
Firstly I am not precious and actually never inspect new items before buying them.
If the bag was grained Barenia like @CherryBomb2305's the cracks would not bother me as they kind of blend with the grain.
On the photo you posted however I would walk away..They really ruin the appearance of the bag and even if it was a 2nd hand bag I wouldn't purchase it.
Even if it doesn't ruin the structural integrity of the bag it looks bad.
I'm sorry..But my advice is walk away.
And wait...

If you don’t mind Barenia Faubourg, you may be able to get a K32 in BF. I got one at the end of last year.

Good call, it would bug me every time I wore it. not taking it and waiting is the ideal route
