Well it's not a surprise gift as you already know what it is. Couldn't you let your DH know you need to inspect it and want to see how it works with your items before the return period, just in case of an issue?
I actually think that would be a good idea as you will be able to relax until Xmas, maybe still anxious to use but not worried about it working or not.

Usually holidays have extended return periods (a week or so after the new year) for this reason. I bought the bandit 39 and LOVED it. However after few hours of wearing it around the house I started to experience very bad shoulder pain due to the heaviness of the bag. For reference I am 5'7 and about a size 16 so I prefer bigger bags. I was down to the minimum essentials (wallet, LV cosmetic pouch, lotion, phone, and key pouch) and my shoulder still hurt. I took out the pouch and while it was lighter I did not care for the slouchiness and digging around for my things. Thankfully I did not cut the tags and returned it the next day and re-ordered it in the smaller size (oxblood).

I love the bandit so much I'm considering repurchasing it in the steel blue for the summer and just trying to make it work without the pouch. I would sell the pouch on Ebay but it does have the creed on it.

Do have a scale to weigh your small bandit? I have bad shoulder issues and the little portable suitcase weight thing is not working correctly. When I was at the shop it said it weighed 1.8 pounds but my friend said she felt one and it seemed a lot heavier .

My boutique was out of stock on the small bandit so I ordered it online and it should arrive early next week. I was also told about 2 lbs was the weight. I will update when it arrives. I just hope it works out because I am very picky with bags but the bandit was absolutely perfect sans the weight. Grrr.

Anyone purchase the dark turquoise bandit? I like the color in the pebbled leather but not the yellow/gold strap that shows on the side from the smaller inner pouch. I'm considering changing that out with say the pouch from the black bandit with tooled tea roses. There seems to be a few flecks of green in that band that would be on the outside of the bag and black and green would look OK, I think. I know the inside lining of the turquoise bandit is a yellow/gold color and the pouch from the black bandit I believe is purple but I don' think you see it unless you open the bag. I'm hoping a local store has both so I can mix and match them IRL. I just ordered the tooled tea rose bandit via Bloomingdales with the extra coupon which was a better deal than the Coach site. If it doesn't work, I guess I can always return it!
