iceearl, thank you so much for starting this thread!! I never gave bags with contrast lining a second thought since I'm a purist when it comes to colors, but WOW! Some of these colorways are absolutely phenomenal! It's like getting a gorgeous surprise every time you open your bag!

Quick question guys, for the colour of the lining, are you free to choose literally any colour that Birkin has on the leather collection or does it have to be in relation to the leather material itself?
eg. if it's clemence on the outside, then the lining you can only choose colours that clemence leather comes in....

Nope, from what I understand the inside is usually in chevre, so no relation to clemence color, you can choose whatever color they have, but it's up to Hermes' final approval :) talk to your SA, they will be able to let you know more.

I see. Final approval you mean as in the local SA would know straight away what combination you can do, or the SA will need to 'submit' the order and then they will be informed whether it is possible or not?

I dont know much about SOs because I ve never done them, but from what I ve read on this forum, yes, approval comes from Paris after your SA/store has submitted it.

I would assume your local SA though not to be completely ignorant as to what stands a good chance of being approved by Paris?

For those who's had their Birkin with bright coloured lining for a long time already, how's the inner lining now? The only concern I have with bags with bright, colourful lining is that it may show wear/dirty marks more than normal black colour. So do you think after prolonged usage, then it might not look as nice anymore because of colour fading/friction marks/etc?
