I had a bad experience with an Elsa Peretti ring (single loop). I somehow managed to squeeze the ring when I was driving and had to suddenly break, so the ring was very tight. Took it in to be repaired and when I got it back the ring it was closer to the original size 5 but had lost his quicky loop shape. Sent an email and was told to go back to the store... I didn't bother... Not buying Tiffany again.

Just a follow up. I am pleased with how they did. The bracelet looks great.
So it seems like the repair jobs are hit or miss, I guess.
I agree with you I think it is hit or miss, I have had good experiences and bad. Hopefully this time gets my piece fixed to my satisfaction, glad yours worked out well!
I tend to think that if you course your repair inquiries through your SA (in any of these brands), the aftercare tends to be significantly better. My only experience with Tiffany repair was for their clocks. And while they were very nice (and I don’t recall a charge) the repair didn’t take.
I had a bracelet come back from servicing and it was returned to me with scratches throughout the bracelet that were not there before. I hear Tiffany has shining services like Cartier and I might have them do that to see if it’ll help remove some scratches. I don’t want to do an actual polish if it’ll remove a layer of gold. Does anyone know if they do the shining service in store while you wait?
I had a ring get shined (or possibly polished, can't remember) while I waited. But this was many years ago when Tiffany did more services while the customer waited. Now, at least for silver, our local store wants us to drop things off and come back from pickup a few days later. And for gold, I'm not sure anymore. Please let us know if you find out more from your local Tiffany's.
