Awkward Experience at Cartier...

The Toronto Bloor boutique's employees are real gems though! At least I'm assuming it's that one Rami. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and seem quite well informed on the company's history.

I've had some bad experiences elsewhere though mainly at the Rodeo Drive location. They all seemed so disinterested :/

I have been to both .. Yorkdale and Bloor. Awesome service. They want you to try whatever you want and give their honest opinion. I wish there was one in Montreal too.

One of my friends been to Rodeo drive location and let's put it this way ... It wasn't a very pleasant experience.

I've also had somewhat of a hit-and-miss experience with Cartier hospitality. For me they've always been very polite and even chatty in the store, but pushy and somewhat rude on the phone.

Toronto Yorkdale store is great too. I received wonderful service when I was both browsing, and then when I went back to make a purchase.

Well, if you come to my neck of the woods, the SA will swoop you up and try to push you to buy something. LOL. That was my recent experience. She offered water and we she understood I was looking she forgot it. When I'm ready to buy I have one SA in mind that will get my business.

OP - I hear ya. You're expecting impeccable service at one of the oldest-high end luxury jewelers.

Best wishes in getting your dream Cartier piece.

I'm old school. I don't need a SA fawning all over me but I do like to be acknowledged by them. For the money to be spent, I don't think an acknowledgement of my presence is too much to ask.

It varies by who is in the store... been to tons all around the world and some days they sit you down with water and snacks to browse and others you have to ask for assistance. Hubby hates going to the store so his preferred Cartier SA is the website

The service you receive in a shop says more about them than about you in most cases . I understand your experience wasn't up to your standards but why would you want to contact corporate over this ? It's not like they we're rude to you

I had average experiences at Cartier too! And the 2 times that I went shopping for my e-ring at different stores, the SAs knew less than I did on diamonds. I had fantastic service at Tiffany's, despite going in wearing my sweaty gym gear. Needless to say, Tiffany got my business.

At least you eventually got service... I walked in with my husband and a baby in a pram and got totally ignored..
but it was so busy.. no one even acknowledged us and said someone will assist..
and we walked out..
i have to say.. where i live.. service is very sub par generally.. so i am not fazed by it at all..

I've been helped awesomely while I was dressed like a bum. Also remember that Cartier was broken into and robbed last year, I'm sure they were told to beef up security until someone was available to assist. Most times they ask, but otherwise you just go and ask them. I've never heard of a boutique instantly asking you if you want a beverage...that usually happens during the buying process in my experience. After you sit down and such.

Actually now that I think about it, I probably feel more uncomfortable in VCA. I feel pressured to buy something there everytime I go. I've gone to Tiffanys so many times that its a hit or miss. I've received spectacular service and then theres one location in my home state that I will absolutely never shop at ever again. Cartier has been the least amount of pressure.
