Prada Psycho, I don't mean to be rude or offensive, but this is why I was questioning the authenticity of bluefly:

Default Re: BlueFly.com is it safe to purchase Fendi from them
I've been a customer of BlueFly for years. I was one of the first to receive a fake Balenciaga that started the whole "downfall". That being said, I've received several authentic bags from them as well. I did receive an authentic Spy from them last year. I was hopeful the few fake bags were a fluke however Friday I received an absolute FAKE Fendi Bag I ordered to travel with(pic below..) The serial number was SO BAD it was unmistakeable. It's a crapshoot whether you will get lucky or not really.. I also ordered a Prada bag & I'm sending it back. It's difficult for me to authenticate Prada & I'm not taking any chances. If I don't know for sure if it's real or not, it's going back~ They are obviously getting bags at a reduced cost from an unreputable source. Just be aware, yes, BlueFly is still selling fakes.

This will be my last post on the matter: Please confine your shopping to a bricks and mortar Prada boutique. You'll never be happy otherwise.

As for Bluefly, that whole thing was an isolated incident, ancient history that was totally blown out of proportion at the time it happened, and never proven to my personal satisfaction or I wouldn't continue to do business with them.

I'm done.

You don't have to be rude about it.

I don't think the post was rude, but I just wanted to mention that I can understand how you feel, jvlin. When I was buying my first designer bag I also had a bag from Bluefly authenticated (not Prada and yes it was fine, though I ended up not keeping it).

I think PP's advice is sound and it's something that I personally concluded too for myself a few years back - buying from the Prada store will give you as much peace of mind as possible, albeit at a higher price.

On another note - just wanted to add my three cheers to the authenticators here. I can tell it's extremely time consuming and I feel like it's been underappreciated recently, so thanks very much for helping everyone out! :smile1:

Yes, I do want to thank everyone for the advice. It's just a little frustrating for me.. I'm only 22, and new to the entire luxury goods industry. All I know is what I've researched on the internet. PP, I wanted to ask your opinion as an eminent member of the Prada subforum because I respect you, not because I wanted to challenge your opinion. It's just difficult to comprehend everything because there are all these episodes of faulty good shipments and still people have a firm opinion. But I guess I will take your opinion and look for a bag from an authorized retailer.

I recently purchased this from a large seller on ebay. I say it is fake and immediately sent it back. From what I have seen, this model does not have the riri zipper, it should be blank on the back. Today they refunded the original purchase price, no shipping. They are saying it is absolutely authentic and "from one of their largest consignors" (YIKES!) and that I should familiarize myself with the "key authenticity points before making a purchase". Even after taking it to Saks and holding right next to a real one, the differences are SO obvious. Will you take a look and let me know? Thanks so much for your help in advance!

You did good to get your money back: raging fake (and not because the zipper isn't blank)!

There's just a certain smell and feel of the Prada leather and a sharpness to its details that can be replicated. I agree, there are other not so obvious markings about it that say fake. I was reprimanded by the seller that because of the zipper it WAS authentic, absolutely no question. Thanks for the quick response! Ya'll are the greatest!

Well, I meant "can't" be replicated........

Thanks Missfiggy and jvlin.

PP - sermon time??

Every different Prada handbag style has it's own set of unique hallmarks which identify it as authentic or not.

Experience is the best teacher.

And we don't discuss the hallmarks on this thread because we don't want give any hints which might improve the counterfeit product.
