Looks real to me. This is the Jade color for the Kira bag in the Turnkey group. Aren't these photos from an auction that is currently online? Why does she think it is fake?

She didn't really give me a specific - she just said something seemed off about it. Do you know what season & yr it's from?
Yeah - I couldn't get my pics to upload b/c they were too big - mine is the exact bag but the berry color

I think it may have come out last year or the year before, but these bags are still available at Off Fifth. I've seen the berry, jade, eggshell, and blue. I don't believe these bags have been faked, they're too complicated and not popular enough for fakers to be aware about.

it's not like there's anything I can do about it now... But, I'd just like to know. I don't know too much about MJ - this being the only one I have of his - but, I think if it's real, I may have my friend try & sell it for me. So, the yr & season would be helpful. It's in great condition - I only used it a few times. It was one of those "better in therory" bags! :)

OOHH! The blue sounds like it'd be sweet! I don't really care for the green, at least this shade. But, I like what he's doing now. I LOVE the Stam! I may get one soon - but my main goal right now is getting my first b bag... Still on the hunt! LOL

Kim, if you are okay with a Black Baby Stam without suede lining (canvas lining this season), I would recommend getting it from department stores & MJ boutiques; you can get Nordstrom to match Saks' monthly 10% promotion code. Buying Stam & Elise on ebay are extremely high-risk unless they are from reputable sellers; both were never marked down, their prices cannot be too low. It's possible that other sellers have authentic items, but the pictures need to be so good to convince us.

Hi Bag.lover. Thanks for the great info, as always. I am not familiar w/the 10% promo code that Saks offers. I will keep my eyes open for it. I am assuming I then call a Nordstroms store and ask them to match. Unfortunately, living in NY I always pay tax!! It seems that every retailer has a store in NY.

Absolutely fake. Sorry..

Here's a better pic for comparison. I haven't confirmed this one real either, there's not enough photos, but see the difference in the size and quilting? For example, count the diamonds across the zipper. The fake one has a smaller zipper!
eBay: AUTHENTIC MARC JACOBS BLACK QUILTED LEATHER BAG (item 220023060019 end time Sep-06-06 13:00:00 PDT)

This is kinda scary since this same seller is selling balenciaga bags that some of our PF members are considering bidding on. Do you really think it is fake? That would be sheisty!

The bag in the quote you mentioned is definitely fake.

What about older MJ bags that have canvas linings and plates with MARC JACOBS only? Some of them have MADE IN ITALY leather piece sewn into the inside pocket. The others have it stamped onto the leather? We need to start going through all our bags now......

I have a small quinn bag that I know is authentic, but it does not have the made in italy stamp anywhere on the suede or leather. Very strange! :shrugs:

I think the promo code can be found in the Deals and Steals forum. If you call an out of state dept store, they will ship the item for you without charging sales tax. The shipping is usually much cheaper than the sales tax. I've done this a few time with Saks. Nordstroms will do it for you also, I think.
