Name: Louis Vuitton French Company Speedy

I found a French Company Speedy from consignment. I've bought designer goods from this person before and have been more than satisfied, but this particular item is throwing me.

It has all the signs of a French Company: the leather strip, right side up logo, the made in U.S label etc, but the number of stitches on the handle tab is throwing me off. It's hard to see, but there appears to be 8 or 10 stitches, not 5. On top of that, there is no patina like the regular made in France Speedy bag I currently own. The handles are a bit worn, but otherwise the bag is in very good shape (a little dirty inside).

Ok thank you for that information. The bag also had a slight smell of mould which I find questionnable...do you know if this is normal and how should I get it out if it is in fact real?
