The Moderators for this thread are Lee and Addy. Please do NOT PM them to request an authentication. Please post in this thread.

NOTE: The PurseForum requests that only members with an extensive knowledge of the brand and authenticating who have over 500 posts participate as authenticators in this AT thread. The moderators reserve the right to remove authentications that do not meet these requirements.

READ THESE RULES BEFORE POSTING A REQUEST

This is a free service. Our authenticators are volunteers providing their opinions, and who desire to keep counterfeiters and dishonest sellers from profiting from their trade, and to help buyers find authentic items. Authenticators are not required to answer all posts and, for various reasons, some may not be answered.

It is the preference of the authenticators on this thread not to give authentication to members who buy and resell bags. It is also the preference of the authenticators to give authentication to members who post in a range of threads, not just requesting free authentication for designer items. If your request is not answered here, for whatever reasons, professional authentication services are available outside of PF.

1. Do a SEARCH and check if the item has been reviewed by one of the senior authenticators before posting a request. Searches can be done via the seller name or by auction/listing number - add * to the beginning and end of the number (eg. *12345678*).

2. You MUST use the format below when requesting for authentication for auctions or non-auctions:

Format to use for an auction item:

Item Name:
Item Number:
Seller ID:
Link: (please make sure link works after you post) Don't post mobile web link.

Format to use for items from sites of professional seller:

Item Name (if you know it):
Link: (please make sure link works after you post)
Photos: (attach using the paperclip at the top of the message box or upload to photobucket.com and post the links)

We will not authenticate for those who post photos only and cannot provide link to online auction/sale.

3. All requests must have clear photos (either in listing and/or provided by member requesting the authentication). This will help expedite authentications. Please ask the seller/use the macro setting on your digi (little flower). If you cannot see the details yourself, neither can we.

At minimum, pics MUST include:
- all exterior
- interior
- LV heat stamp
- date code
- engraving on hardware (ie. zipper pull, lock, rivet, pushlock, screws, etc)

If the listing or your request does not have the required pics, it will NOT be reviewed. That means if you have not received a response, please check your original posting to ensure all information and pics are present.

Check out this thread! If you're using Photobucket, don't post mobile photobucket links, pics are too small, post links.

Authenticators are not required to answer every request, and it is their right to ignore a request that is not in the proper format.

4. Do NOT make more than 3 requests per post.

5. Please wait at least 24 hours before bumping your request. Search by seller or item # to ensure that it has not been reviewed (see rule 1). If the auction is ending soon, you may say so in your comments. Remember, we are just like you, and get on tPF when we have time so please be patient.

6. To ensure that additional pics requested are seen by the authenticators, quote or provide a link to your original request and response. Use the quote feature or copy and paste the url. Failure to do do may result in your query not being answered. Please utilize the quote feature when responding directly to another post.

7. Comments on price and/or condition are NOT permitted. So please do not ask us for an opinion.

8. Do NOT PM an authenticator or moderator to request authentication. Any and all such requests must be posted in this thread.

9. Should one of your items be questioned in this thread, you are welcome to provide additional pictures or materials supporting its authenticity.

10. Do NOT handle your disputes with other members in this thread. Take your differences to Private Message or just use the REPORT function ( button) to alert the mods, and let them handle it from there. In the meantime, just ignore the poster until a Mod can intervene. Failure to do so can result in banning. Always be respectful when you post and treat others as you expect to be treated. This is an open thread and everyone is welcome to participate.

Hello and welcome!

Missing sellers name: andreafinn720

I'm Sorry! But Listing pictures are woefully inadequate, way too far away, way too much glare and Missing ALL required pictures needed to authenticate except for Two. Insufficient pictures to give any sort of opinion either way. Pictures need to be taken in Natural Lighting, UP Close, Straight on Without Flash/Glare. Please Read Required pics carefully. Thank you!

Please Read------> https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/required-pics-for-lv-authentication.649743/

Hi there! Can you please authenticate this LV palm springs mini?

name: Louis Vuitton palm springs mini

Hello and welcome!

Where did you buy this bag?

I need a Link to Sale/Auction and in Required Format to help you, the guidelines are at the top of every page.

Otherwise:

I'm Sorry, but I cannot help you. The Forum Rules for this Thread at the top of every page is clear. Per Forum Rules:

We will not authenticate for those who post photos only and cannot provide link to online auction/sale. We require a Valid Link to Sale/Auction to authenticate. We also do not authenticate Private items (No Link). Nor do we authenticate items from any social media sites. Please use a paid third party authentication service for a fee. Simply Google paid services. I strongly recommend you do so. Also, Please Do Not upload pictures onto any other Thread until you have confirmation of Authenticity. Thank you for understanding and Good Luck!

The pic you uploaded isn't anywhere near close enough and the way you have taken the pic, you cut off the V end after the holes/slots of the bracelet.

Here is a pic where the date Should be. Before the two holes/slots and right on the very end of the V Shape end of bracelet.

Again, it Might be very faint and I strongly recommend you use the ZOOM feature on whatever device you are using. :ty:

Apologies, I’m completely misunderstood the area in question. Alas, still no date code visible in this area. I appreciate your patience.

hi @lovlouisvuitton is it possible to get confirmation on whether this is authentic? I’ve tried to quote all messages so it links back, but it’s showing errors on my iPad. Sorry for the issues with my request.

Hello everyone!

Thanks for your help in advance. This is an invaluable, one-of-a-kind free service and your expertise is sincerely appreciated!

The reason I'm posting: this looks odd simply because heat stamp doesn't have the short L tail that most bags of this era present.

You're right, I am sorry for not including this, and will add to original post.... Thank you for your help, honestly this service is invaluable and much appreciated! I know this is wouldn't be possible without a lifetime of experience, skill, knowledge, and the effort it takes to actually help others without receiving anything in return.

Would you please help me authenticate? :)

Thank you for editing your post. All I ask is to please use basic Forum etiquette we use on this Forum/Site (not just this Thread), that's all. :ty:

Are you the winner of this listing or are you just asking because of the Made in? heat stamp?

I don't see any red flags - Although there Might be a heat stamp on shoulder pad (lift up shoulder strap from pad) that's missing, but again, it Might not have one, not all shoulder pads do and nothing to worry about.

Hey thank you! I definitely need to be better about that, and I will!

I am the winner, then I started going down the downward spiral of worry haha. This seller is fairly well regarded, it's just all the authentication guides I've read mentioned the unusual shape of the L as a sign of authenticity, and most other 80s bags have the unique L with the shorter tail!

Thanks for the reassurance!!! I'd love to learn more about authentication myself, and either way I hope to contribute more to this excellent forum!

Missing date code pic?

It's on the V shape end BEFORE the two holes (it Might be faint). I need an UP close, straight on, without flash/glare pic.

Hello, please would it be possible to find out if this bracelet is authentic? I usually post just one photo and don’t usually multi quote so I’m afraid I’ve had a few issues with that as well as not understanding where I should look for the date stamp. I really appreciate any help that could be given as that’s what I love contributing to the forum (I’ve given lost of advice about repairs and refurbishing over the years as it’s a hobby). I’ve never bought an lv bracelet and wanted this one as the initial has sentimental special reasons. Thank you in advance

Hello! I’d appreciate it if someone could please help me authenticate this luggage tag I’ve bought from VC. It’s my first ever pre loved item of any kind, so I’m very nervous! thanks very much in advance, I’m grateful for the help and for your time.

The pictures looked ok to me, the seller is a professional seller in Italy selling on VC, however after I bought it, alarm bells rang when I saw the same pictures used for three other listings by the same seller. It could be that they have multiple pieces of this City Steamer Luggage Tag, but it seems unlikely. It’s also posted on Joli’s closet in addition to the VC link below. (https://www.jolicloset.com/en-gb/de...harms/louis-vuitton-luggage-tag-black--359737) Is this dodgy?

I'm sorry, but I cannot help you with this item. Pieces like this is way too difficult to authenticate just via pictures alone.

Also, for whatever reason, I'm unable to view the VC website anymore. I just get some sort of fashion home page. I use a desktop computer and it's the only way I use to authenticate items. Again, sorry, but I cannot help you! Thank you for understanding & Good Luck!
