READ THESE RULES BEFORE POSTING A REQUEST

This is a free service. Our authenticators are volunteers providing their opinions, and who desire to keep counterfeiters and dishonest sellers from profiting from their trade, and to help buyers find authentic items. Authenticators are not required to answer all posts and, for various reasons, some may not be answered.

It is the preference of the authenticators on this thread not to give authentication to members who buy and resell bags. It is also the preference of the authenticators to give authentication to members who post in a range of threads, not just requesting free authentication for designer items. If your request is not answered here, for whatever reasons, professional authentication services are available outside of PF.

1. Do a SEARCH and check if the item has been reviewed by one of the senior authenticators before posting a request. Searches can be done via the seller name or by auction/listing number - add * to the beginning and end of the number (eg. *12345678*).

2. You MUST use the format below when requesting for authentication for auctions or non-auctions:

Format to use for an auction item:

Item Name:
Item Number:
Seller ID:
Link: (please make sure link works after you post) Don't post mobile web link.

Format to use for items from sites of professional seller:

Item Name (if you know it):
Link: (please make sure link works after you post)
Photos: (attach using the paperclip at the top of the message box or upload to photobucket.com and post the links)

We will not authenticate for those who post photos only and cannot provide link to online auction/sale.

3. All requests must have clear photos (either in listing and/or provided by member requesting the authentication). This will help expedite authentications. Please ask the seller/use the macro setting on your digi (little flower). If you cannot see the details yourself, neither can we.

At minimum, pics MUST include:
- all exterior
- interior
- LV heat stamp
- date code
- engraving on hardware (ie. zipper pull, lock, rivet, pushlock, screws, etc)

If the listing or your request does not have the required pics, it will NOT be reviewed. That means if you have not received a response, please check your original posting to ensure all information and pics are present.

Check out this thread! If you're using Photobucket, don't post mobile photobucket links, pics are too small, post links.

Authenticators are not required to answer every request, and it is their right to ignore a request that is not in the proper format.

4. Do NOT make more than 3 requests per post.

5. Please wait at least 24 hours before bumping your request. Search by seller or item # to ensure that it has not been reviewed (see rule 1). If the auction is ending soon, you may say so in your comments. Remember, we are just like you, and get on tPF when we have time so please be patient.

6. To ensure that additional pics requested are seen by the authenticators, quote or provide a link to your original request and response. Use the quote feature or copy and paste the url. Failure to do do may result in your query not being answered. Please utilize the quote feature when responding directly to another post.

7. Comments on price and/or condition are NOT permitted. So please do not ask us for an opinion.

8. Do NOT PM an authenticator or moderator to request authentication. Any and all such requests must be posted in this thread.

9. Should one of your items be questioned in this thread, you are welcome to provide additional pictures or materials supporting its authenticity.

10. Do NOT handle your disputes with other members in this thread. Take your differences to Private Message or just use the REPORT function ( button) to alert the mods, and let them handle it from there. In the meantime, just ignore the poster until a Mod can intervene. Failure to do so can result in banning. Always be respectful when you post and treat others as you expect to be treated. This is an open thread and everyone is welcome to participate.

Time is not an issue. I do not know if my posts are going through and being posted. As I have said, I am new. You only just logged on? You gave people after me their answers so i was simply curious as to if my post went through. I have already used a paid service so I was simply interested in your opinion. So thank you.

Oh shoot sorry. Idk why link doesn't work. strange. and YEs! Posh StiLL has it on there even after they wrote me back 2 reasons why they denied it and shipped back to seller, due to the P in Paris and the heatstamp and datecode was wrong.

Here is the link again to Suhali Fab....I tested it and it seems to work now:

Thank you for response! No I didn't buy it... yet. It apparently was sold to someone else, but seller had to send to poshmark for authentication first. POshmark sent back to seller saying they could not authenticate. Seller says that is impossible bc she bought it at the LV store at her local mall herself. Seller says Poshmark would not explain any further why they rejected it. I'm waiting to see more pictures. They have other LV for sale but all pics are crummy.

Hang on? You posted that they couldn't authenticate it? As highlighted above in BOLD RED? ^^

So since then you have heard back from Posh? And now they claim because of heat stamp issue's? Correct?

Yes, sorry, I didn't clarify. Yes, I didn't think I would hear back from them....i had sent my own inquiry email to them and they actually wrote me back and surprisingly gave me details. Here is what they said: Thanks for your email. Please note our in house Louis Vuitton authenticator could not determine the bag authentic due to several key indicators. We stand behind our verification process and believe the error rate is extremely low. We could not determine the bag authentic for the following reasons, but not limited to:

- The heatstamp is not consistent with the heatstamp font that Louis Vuitton uses. Specifically, the 'P' in Paris.
- The date code font does not conform to the particular font that is used by Louis Vuitton

PS...thanks for confirmng that Fake Suhali!!! :) (oh, and it was 'after i heard from Posh that the seller then tried to pass off a stolen image of a datecode that didn't match the LV Paris Made in France tag) - - - Complete Sheister. No clue why she is still allowed on the site.

To further clarify, it was the SELLER that told me the first time that Posh didn't give her any reasons why, just that they couldn't authenticate. Then later, Posh responded to my email sent to them. Also, the original buyer who was supposed to get it first, heard back from Posh, but with no details either. So I was surprised I got details. Glad I did.

UPDATE: AND THE POSHMARK SELLER SAGA CONTINUES.... Seller of the fake camo just now, after about a week of beating around the bush, sent clear pics of datecode and even placed a dated signed postit next to it. Good news is she really didn't steal the image off the web as I initially thought...the image she sent was actually the fake bag....bad news is it confirms that the datecode is Italy whereas the LV Paris MIF tag is France. This is probably what Poshmark was referring to in the letter they sent me detailing their reasons why they didnt approve it as authentic. Additionally, she has another bag, an LE Denim Patch Bowly that I have been asking for pics for as well and she finally sent that datecode too. Hereagain, good news is the pic is crisp and clear, bad news the stamp is dark in the beginning and fades lighter towards the end of the datecode. She still has yet to send me a good crisp close up of the LV Paris MIF tag for either bag, that I have been asking for. Also refuses to send measurements of camo. When she answers my question, she directs me to a link that shows an old one previously for sale by someone else on Carousell.com and she says I can get the measurements from that. I'll attach pics here:
(the first 2 are of the Monogramouflage; the last as you can see is the Blue Denim Patch Bowly with the light/dark date code stamp). Thanks so Much for your time! :)
