Hello,
I would appreciate your expert opinion about this scarf. Thank you for your help; I’ve learned so much from this thread.

Item: Hermes jacquard silk scarf - La Cle des Champs- brown

listing number: EBay 133809269162

Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/133809269162

Comments: Photos show a scarf that appears to have a true red border & white field. Listing title says brown. Listing description says rust brown with ivory field. The most similar colorway in this design that I’ve seen in my research appears to have a burgundy border; however, colors of the birds in this listing appear authentic.
I emailed seller requesting more clarification and a photo of any care tag. I’ve received no response after three days. Seller has only one Ebay sale with feedback in last 12 months, and that sale was not a Hermes scarf.

What do the experts think?
The scarf pictured is genuine.

Colors are tricky due to calibration differences across viewing devices and photography lighting. Ivory, off-white, cream, ecru, etc. often get lightened to all appear white in well-lit photos. Color descriptors vary from person to person, too. Things to consider.

Many tales here of TPF’ers purchasing a scarf from photos and being surprised at actual colors when in-hand. That’s a trade-off of not buying in person, but some might say is part of the “fun” of buying pre-loved online.

I agree the scarf is fine. Currently the same bright red is offered by a Japanese seller. Probably pics are
taken with flash but the bordeaux cw is a deep dark red.

Dear authenticators, I hope you are keeping well and enjoying the summer. I would be very grateful for your help with authenticating this scarf.

Item: Brazil scarf (navy)
Listing number: 17181133
Seller: Private seller on Vestiaire Collective
Link: https://www.vestiairecollective.com...re-90-hermes-silk-handkerchief-17181133.shtml
Comments: It looks good to my amateur eyes, but the label looks more like that of the 2001 edition of the scarf rather than the "older style" labels of the 1988 edition, which I believe was issued in this colour.

Many thanks in advance and best regards!

No worries- it’s Genuine
Looks to be one of the late 90’s reissues.

Would greatly appreciate authentication on this scarf:

Just a bit suspicious that several brand new CWs of this scarf are for sale at more than one resale site lately. Thank you.
The silk is fine.

As to the proliferation of copies of the scarf - many possible explanations for that, honestly it seems to be a trend, resellers seem to acquire in bulk these days. They dont seem to be selling consigned pre-loved onesies much anymore ??? I could be wrong

Ask the seller about the provenance, do you trust the answer? Did you get an answer ? Promptly ? You need to be comfortable with the seller.

Thank you for your reply. I asked seller if the hand rolled edge is pink and received a reply saying it is.

Good example of color inaccuracy in photos
the scarf indeed had a pinky/lilac accent , I suspect this was washed out in most of the shots, due to flash?
ask the seller , who has the silk in hand, there is only so much we can do based on (inaccurate) photos

Welcome to TPF
If you review Post #1 of this thread you’ll see the guidelines & format required for an authentication request (and that this one doesn’t meet the requirements).

Hopefully we can assist in the future.
Thank you for your help. I will update it now. Is there a way to edit my original or can I reply to it with that information? Sorry it’s my first time doing this.
