It feels like Polyester in that it feels like plastic. I tested my suspicion and sprinkled some water and it just beaded off. So suspicious. Even my 7-year old commented that it was harder than my silks.
Dear Authenticators

Thanks for your help.

Comments: It feels like polyester. There are white stripes that have texture across tassels and wooden bars. There are no tags beyond the one that is shown.

We're not supposed to authenticate after purchase, but since this is a teachable moment, I'll break the rule and hope not to get in trouble. I think your scarf is authentic. The white stripes are a process that Hermes uses; I think it's called blanc matte. For more information google Hermes scarf guides blanc matte. As for water beading, it's probably due to the sizing that Hermes or a dry cleaner used on it, unless it's one of the waterproof ones that they made years ago. That's all I can say on this.

Waterproof sounds about right. I have a video showing how I shook the water right off. That would be way out of this world. Thanks very very much.

Below is scarf guide’s pic of tag for waterproof scarf, so mine is probably inadvertently/unofficially waterproof :/38055D77-D308-41BB-9FD0-B6754E7C7730.jpeg

The detail looks good on this. Is that the copyright to the left of the man's head in the very top left corner? Or maybe it is an original issue and doesn't have one. I don't know what to say other than the detail looks good and if I wanted it I'd buy it.

Hi - I am not an official authenticator, but I wanted to chime in since you seem so worried, so perhaps I can provide a measure of comfort. Your scarf looks fine to me. I don't think it is waterproof. This beading and the stiffness is just the sizing / starch. I have seen this in many boutique-bought scarves -- I vividly remember red wine beading off a boutique-bought scarf! Some scarves /design at the boutique feel stiffer even when handling due to the sizing; I am not sure if that's intentional or just a variation in treatment. In fact, I often use sizing when washing and ironing scarves just to 'protect' them since I spill things on them all the time.

Thanks so much Anna! Indeed, I was very worried! I think it sadly takes so much away from the feel of the silk though.

Comments: interested in this Napoleon Scarf - notice the letter A on the tag - not sure I've seen that before. Any thoughts on this?

Cavaliers du Caucase 140 cm silk scarf

I wish this to be true as I like pattern, color, texture and size, but I agree with the comment about not remembering it been released that way.
And I do not trust the VC authenticators (the seller claims to have gotten it from there)

any thoughts?
I don’t remember a 140 cm cavaliers either , nasty stitches on tag
but then I am in denial - lol - about half of each Galactically voluminous recent collection.

Hi Marie, I feel honored to see you back here again, thank you! Cavaliers was current collection when my interest in H started. I have a 90 and a CSGM. The pictured CW was a 90 for sure (I think @Pautinka has it). As I really like the silk GMs I would have gotten this one if it ever was available. But also: not every scarf is seen online or in every country, collections get bigger (I did not get anything from the current one but I adore the creativity), fakes are getting better :yucky:.
I will pass on this one, too good to be true, doubt would never leave me...

It used to be that if the scarf was not seen at the TPF, then it was never made, not true anymore, there are always unusual variants that no one knew about
and the 140 cm silks are tricky since they have been done in so many fabrics , twill, plume, lave, jacquard, but one design was in plume, another in winter twill etc nothing consistent
