Please read the first post before posting per p.1 in this thread (Dec 20 2012),

You will need to follow form for an answer. Form per p.1 in this thread (Dec 20 2012) or below:
1. ALL Authentication requests require an active link to a currently For Sale item.

2. Before you submit a request for authentication, please make sure listing includes necessary photos. If listing lacks these details- ask Seller for extra photos prior to authentication request.

Necessary Photos*:
Title, Hermès Paris, artist signature, copyright, hems (including corner), fabric caretag, close-up of fabric weave, and full flat scarf photo.

*Identifying marks may be absent on some scarves. Include as much as possible on list that is present on scarf in question.
(Authenticators might request additional pictures and/or information in order to assist with authentication.)

  • It is the buyer’s responsibility to assess condition and decide if it’s acceptable.

I think it is authentic. Re learning, you read as much as you can, study pictures using sites like this one, and other trustworthy catalogues like HSCI's on piwigo and luxuryscarves.

First issue was in 1970, and there have been two re-issues since - one in 1980 and one in 1999. The copyright sign is located in a different place in the 1999 issue, so the scarf is older than 14 years old. I think this is from the 1980s issue, but the greens and golds should be more vibrant than pictured here (which is what gave me the impression it had been through a washing machine or the like, causing fading and maybe also discolouration and colour bleeding; pics are so bad it is hard to tell!). Also check out what seems to be a huge stain in the sky under the 1642.

Comments: Does this scarf exist without any coloured borders? I have seen one with no borders at all, just feathers on a white background, not sure if it exists as google shows no results. Or you can just authenticate without replying to this :p
