Hello, I purchased an "authentic" Hermes black togo palladium 35cm Birkin from an ebay seller with positive feedback who has traded on ebay for 10 years. The pictures posted on the auction listing looked promising (no immediate red flags):

However, I received the bag this afternoon and have concerns about its authenticity. Specifically, the "seams" do not look right to me (I tried to capture this in the first few photos). Also, the lock is not as heavy as the lock I have from my Birkin purchased at the Hermes boutique and the keys are slightly thinner (also, there is a metal "jump" ring as you can see in the photo). Am I jumping to conclusions?

I hope I am posting this correctly as this is my first time contributing anything to the Forum! Thank you.

i generally do not authenticate but this is not an authentic birkin. your instincts are correct.

Sorry, I don't believe this is authentic and actually, the pictures in the auction listing also make me come to the same conclusion.

I am not sure if this is the right thread to post this question, but I was wondering if there is an "off white" Birkin, my friend has one which she purchased on eBay some time ago and it does not look like parchemin or poussiere, it is really close to a white color, some help please because I've been telling her that I think it is a fake due to color.

I really appreciate the quick advice - I emailed the seller letting her know that the bag is not authentic and requested a refund. She hasn't responded yet but based on her positive feedback, I'm hopeful she will do the "right" thing and refund my money promptly. Notwithstanding her feedback and tenure on ebay, I did put in a call to my credit card company notifying them to "dispute" the charge (via paypal) while this is sorted out. Perhaps I jumped the gun by calling my credit card company too quickly, but I'm not sure how to best position myself at this point...Mahalo, lala.

Can not tell you anything without pictures and they must be posted in the format with all information.

Go to the reference section under colors and see if you can find a similar leather color. That might be your faster answer.

Hope you can get refunded quickly and painlessly....
Next time, ask here before clicking on the "buy" button!

good luck. More information in the Ebay subforum, too. Remember, when you send it back take pictures of all your wrapping and get signature confirmation. Be sure you are in communication with paypal and ebay and communicate with the seller through ebay channels. good luck.
