Depends on what you like. The patent is much more flashy, but it's rare. The Nappa leather is much more subdued, and more common. Depends on your taste. I would go with the Nappa, but that's just me. HTH! :flowers:

The last two pics show where the straps look uneven, almost like they were cut and glued. I have no idea if this is common or not.

Litigatrix and I have looked at this together...and while it's common for vintage bags to have had the serial number rubbed off over time and/or with use, I always thought that this particular line had a black leather lining, rather than a fabric lining. :confused1: I could be wrong though... Litigatrix is not comfortable with the way the straps are uneven, either. So neither of us are sure at this point...sorry! Perhaps you can post it again once baglady.1 is back from vacation - try again sometime is August, I'm not sure when she is back... :shrugs:

Yeah, the strap thing plagues me as well. It was donated along with a vintage Gucci small camera case bag, a vintage lizard Givenchy clutch and a huge patent leather Marco Buggiani tote--so one would hope that it would be authentic, too. Not that it would make it so. :p

Thank you so much for your help, I'll repost in a couple of weeks to see what the consensus is then. :smile1:
