I think it's not worth it. You can end up with an accurate fake easily. While we can do our best to authenticate from photos here, we cannot guarantee that the bag that you receive is authentic, especially when it comes to the Lady Dior and Diorissimo bag.

You also get a warranty for a boutique purchase, and a much better selection of colours.

For preloved, I would recommend that you go to the boutique and feel the leather on the LD first. If you do end up buying it, make sure to thoroughly feel the leather and try to compare it to the one you felt in the boutique. The superfakes that I have seen tend to have a rougher feel (poor dyed job causing the leather to dry out more or simply a low grade leather piece). Fakes have been getting good at replicating the stamps and charms, but the quality of the leathers on the bags are always lacking.

Thank you so much AverageJoe and ThisVNchick for your help; I think I have decided to probably return this one and get a fresh colored one from the boutique. :)
The price point wasn't that far from the boutique one, pricey pricey.

Dear Dior Authenticators,

Thanks ThisVNchick for the reply~

I'm uploading more images of my vintage dior Diorissimo Canvas pochette I bought from a Japan store, with the date code/ serial no.: 02RU 0044 (I phoned the customer service of the Dior official shop of my city and that cs staff also told me that it's IMPOSSIBLE for the date code/ serial no. to start with 2 numbers :( )

I actually typed "02RU 0044" on the yahoo search engine and I found out 2 links of the sale of dior bags (both SOLD OUT already) with the SAME date code/ serial no. BOTH of the sellers claimed that their item is 100% authentic, but the bags are of different styles. So, I'm confused. But my dior pochette looks like the same style as the pink one

the pink one listed on an online shop named "COUTURE": http://www.coutureusa.com/p-10296-christian-dior-pink-diorrissimo-canvas-small-shoulder-bag.aspx

the blue one on EBAY (the seller is from Japan as well): http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Auth-Christi...-Navy-Italy-Vintage-Good-C04355-/231627645727

Here are some more images of my dior pochette (I have uploaded the pics to the facebook photo album, see if you guys can see the pics):

Thanks ALL!!!

Not sure if that CS knew what he/she was saying or perhaps confused it with the style code (which starts with letters only) but date codes usually ALL start with 2 numbers.

Dior date codes are not unique. This means there are more than one bag that shares this combination. It is similar to LV. You can have multiple, say speedy bags, with the date code CA 0124. It just means they were produced in the same location at the same time. It is not like the Chanel serial number where each bag has its own ID number so to speak.

That said, your bag is authentic.

so by taking a look at the pictures of my dior pochette, so it's 100% authentic?

but I did bring it to a second-hand shop of my city (coz I wanted to resell it) and the staff there also said my pochette was not authentic, so they couldn't buy it from me.

They must have increased the price.

It is highly unlikely that the seller will back down given that she already has your money. She will just continue to deny it. And if you request just email authentication, you're going to end up paying for both, email and pdf authentication. I guess you can try, but I find it hard to believe her story and feel like she's trying extra hard to accommodate you so you feel more at ease and hopefully will drop the return. Anytime this much money is at stake, I would recommend just opening a PP case and making it official. If you communicate with her, you should do it with a case open. That way all of your communication is on record- sometimes paypal doesn't accept personal email exchanges. Let's say she tells you to return the bag and you do but she then refuses to refund your money even though you have tracking information- without a request from PP or proof that PP can physically see, they won't force the refund. Just be careful when dealing with scammers. Take all precautions, it might cost a bit, but definitely don't risk thousands of dollars because you want to save $50.

I didn't think that they would take that long. Sorry to hear that. Maybe they are taking the time to be sure (?). Your bag wasn't easy to authenticate here, so maybe they are feeling the same way.

Help authenticate please! I found this item in a B. Altman box in my grandmother's nightstand today. Based on box and other tags, purchased at B. Altman, which was a high end department store in NYC that is no longer. The item is brand new but I want to make sure it's authentic! Someone please help. Unfortunately, I have no other info (I wish I did)! She doesn't remember who gave it to her or when.

Looks authentic to me.

Hello, I found what i believe to be an authentic vintage Dior scarf/handkerchief gift with purchase of the poison perfume from the '80s at my local thrift store - since it's not a bag, can I post here for help? Or does this belong in another thread? Or should I start a separate thread? Thanks in advance!
