It looks fine to me as well but I'll check up on the stitching alignment and inside tag. Everything else checks out though at first look.

Hello!

About two months ago I bought a pair of black Dior Serpent Pumps on Ebay. When I got them I was not suspicious at all about their authenticity as I 1) bought them from a trusted seller 2) they look and feel the same as the 100% authentic red and nude/beige Serpent Pumps from Dior I already have (at least at first glance).

So I stored them away and took them out today to wear them for the first time and as I was comparing them to the red and the nude Serpent's I have I noticed some details which made me suspicious. But as the material is as robust as on the 100% authentic ones, I have to say: If this is a fake, it's incredibly well done.

I will first post the Ebay auction with the seller's description and pictures. Then I will post my own pictures of the "strange" details. On this pictures I have photographed my 100% authentic red Serpent's and the black ones I doubt, so you can see in comparison what made me have doubts.

Everything I describe in the following is shown in the posted pictures:

1) The sole: First, the writing is not on the same height on the sole. Second, on the black ones the font of the "39" is bigger and not as thin/fine as on the red ones (and the nude ones as well, they are the same as the red ones, also on my Hermitage Booties the font is as fine/thin as on the red and nude Serpent's).

2) My red and nude ones have a serial number inside, the black ones don't.

3) Going then down a bit from the serial number of the red ones and on the black ones where the serial number should be, there is a stitching. It is not made the same way on the black ones as it is on the red and nude ones, please see pictures for comparison. On the red and nude ones there are two stitching lines, on the black ones only one.

4) Photos of the logo on the inner sole.


I have to say I'd be "shocked" eitherway at the moment, as I already said, if this is a fake it's at least at the first glance perfectly made, also I can't believe a trusted seller being deceived as well (but of course this can happen to any eye once). But otherwise I could not understand such differences in details between the same shoe from a high end brand as Dior is, especially as the red and nude ones are practically identical to the smallest detail.
So I really hope you can help me out. Thanks so much!

Oh and PLEASE: If you find the black ones to be fake, could you shortly describe why you think so, as I'd need to contact the seller in this case.

Some of your close-up pictures are a bit blurry, and the seller's pictures are not close enough. I would like to compare the finish on the patent leather between both pumps.

The other details look fine so far, save the imbalanced proportioning between both of the black pumps from the rear view. You can see that the curvey serpent part is done differently on both pumps. I;m not sure if this is an indication of being a fake, since every once in a while, a crafter isn't careful, but it is certainly making me doubt the authenticity.

The soles of both shoes ahould have darkened with wear since they are made of a tanned hide similar, but I can't tell if there is water-damage or a patina on the soles of the black shoes (it looks more like dirt and blackening to me). If the bottom is wearing like a natural hide, then your shoes should be authentic.

I want to add that differences between similar pairs of shoes does not mean that one of them are fake. There is sometimes variation among products, and it may relate to the time of manufacture.

Thank you ;) I know the serial # and zipper type looked weird to me, that's why I wanted to ask.... anyone else that might have some insight I would love some more help on this one thanks:)
