Authenticate This Dior - please read post 1 FIRST

Hello,
I really need help to authenticate this Lady Dior Beige Patent Leather Medium Size Bag. I recently bought this bag for $2000 and am not sure if its authentic. Please kindly help!! Please note that one of my main concerns is the seam around the inside tag (the one that states "Christian Dior, Paris, Made in Italy") seems to be crackling from almost each point that the thread has been sewn threw. Another concern I have is the handles, I noticed that the bags on the Christian Dior Website have very handles that are very defined (especially on the part above the top of the round gold rings where they begin to puff out). Overall I am not sure if this is a fake or the real thing because many websites warn that Lady Dior Fakes are made very close to the real thing these days!!! Any and all help is much Appreciated

Before I read your reply, I went back and added a few concerns I had about the beige patent lady dior 1) the stitching around the tag (the leather seems to be crackling at the point that the thread went through... and 2) the definition of the handles (the part where they begin to go puffy). All items are authenticated on their individual merits. It is not unheard of for the occasional bad item to slip through into even the most reputable resellers.

Thank-you so much...my feeling is the same. But you're right, perhaps I should get a second opinion. Is there a place you recommend I can go to (on this forum or on the web) for a another opinion. Also, is there a place on the forum that has a list of recemmended authentication service providers?

It looks authentic to me, too. The "cracking" is normal for patent leather, and it is not so much a quality issue as the nature of the leather itself. Even Chanel and LV patent pieces will have similar problems, as the plastic coating on the leather will behave differently compare to the leather beneath it (so a needle with thread may pass through the leather fine, but cause a bit of cracking on the patent coating). This is already minimized by inserting the needle from the outside of the bag to the inside rather than the reverse, which hides the small cracks caused by the needle.

And with wear, the definition of the base of the handle will change. Patent leather is also more stiff (less flexible) and doesn't wrap as tightly around the structural support in the handle, thus resulting in less definition even when it's brand new.
