I am not having much luck buying a vintage coach purse!
One if them I just got has a twisted strap. It looks like one side was put on backwards. If I want the strap to not be twisted while wearing, I have to have the buckle & excess tail of the strap dig into my shoulder.
This was not disclosed. Is this a fake?

If the bag has a creed, please post a picture of it too.

I looked at the brass ring & it looks like a very thick piece of metal. I can not find the an opening for the brass ring at the section where the strap meets the ring. The bottom leather piece attached ring & the bag is too tight to even move the ring much.
Hmmmm ???

Here is the creed of the bag that has a strap twisted.
I think it's authentic but is the strap supposed to be like that?
Thanks for your help, Christine

The bag looks authentic. Catbird is right, there is a split in the ring where the strap can be removed. The break will be in the middle underneath the leather loop so you won't be able to see it unless you shift it. The strap might have been shortened. I don't know what the exact length should be but it looks too short to me. Hyacinth might have the measurements. If you can't turn the strap around or the strap has been shortened, you can open a not as described return in ebay.

The end of the strap shown in the last photo you posted has been drastically shortened. The stitches closest to the brass ring attached to the body of the bag are too short and the wrong color, and Coach NEVER made straps where the buckle would dig into your shoulder like that. The strap has been butchered, to put it bluntly.

The style is an Oliver Bag, style number 9902. AFAIK it's the only style Coach ever made with those V-shaped sides and zipper mounting. Coach's photos and descriptions are below, NOTE THE LISTED STRAP LENGTH - 46 or 48 inches! - FROM COACH'S 1992 and 1992 Fall Special Edition catalogs. Refer the seller here if she refuses to believe you.

My advice would be to contact the seller and also file a SNAD claim immediately. There's NO WAY that any seller would ever think a twisted strap like that was normal. It would also help if you post the link to the listing so we can see how the seller described it. Where did you buy it? I don't see any authentication request here at tPF for that bag.
