You're welcome. I don't remember the fake bag you mention but if that was pointed out as being fake, it was because all authentic bags in that style had finished bottoms. I think that in these Lightweights styles, Coach often didn't add things that would add to the weight of the bag. I know that in at least one Lightweights style, some of the bags have a leather piece covering the bottom and others don't. I don't know if they changed it over time or if it depended on which factory made it. My Whitney has a bottom similar to yours.

It IS centered on the front. The side with the pocket is the back.

Don't ever expect Coach to follow any of those "rules" that get tossed around so much in those online authenticity guides. One of the Salearea Guides mentions this exception.


The most consistent thing about Coach is their inconsistency

From what I can see, it also appears to have run-on words on the creed too. I'm not comfortable with that bag and wouldn't recommend buying it without a better picture of the full creed and serial number.

It's not reportable at this point but definitely not recommended.

I'll be happy to report it.

The creed is stamped AND stitched crooked, the front clip is not any kind ever used by Coach, the year code is "2" and Coach never did ANY kind of Optic Sig pattern in 2002 - the Optic pattern wasn't introduced until 2004, there's a serious problem with one specific detail of the C pattern that is never seen in genuine Optic styles, and the sizes and colors of the Cs aren't correct either, there's hardly any color or size variation like there should be. The strap buckle style and "dot" leather embossing were also NEVER used by Coach.

And I'd bet my next Social Security check that the serial number is the infamous A2J-6094.

BTW, I C&P'd the above paragraphs right into my report to Ebay so anyone who reports, please change the wording in your report so that it doesn't sound too much like mine. Tanks! :D
