Comment: I'm curious. Is this an authentic Classic Pouch please. Green? Double cartouche?? The strap looks really wide or maybe it's the angle.

Hi - I just examined the "double" cartouche and I don't think it was actually stamped twice, I think that this is a double exposure.... If you look really closely at all the minute details they are a mirror image of each other. Check the grain, edges, etc and you will see what I mean.

You're absolutely right but I wonder how that happened. :confused1:
The seller mentions the double exposure in the listing. I wonder if she saw your comments and changed her listing.

The bag looks authentic. One of the pictures I have of the classic pouch from Coach shows a really wide strap just like this. The others I've seen with creeds had a narrower strap, so maybe they changed it.

I need to read the listings more carefully. I missed the seller's comment.

(She didn't edit and add her comment. Had the listing's description be revised, it would show as "revised")

I didn't know that. Where would it show as revised on the listing? The only time I've noticed revisions were when there were already bids, so they weren't allowed to change the original body of the description and it was added to the end of the listing.

It shows just above the item specifics -- "view all revisions":

Here's a post showing the same creed with the same fake serial number and thick font. (This post was from yesterday.)

Although your bag and her bag are different colors, the other seller has a long history of listing and selling fakes. I hope debbieb208 wasn't your seller.

http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-855067-520.html#post27490609

I think I found your purchase (the same bag with the same serial number) and if it's the one I think it is, it's another seller with a long history of mixing authentic and fake Coach items.

Thanks for the info ~ No, it wasn't the same seller. Just a coincidence...I'm filing a dispute, so hopefully, I'll get my money back. Thanks so much for your help...

I think it's a Classic Pouch/Classic Shoulder bag style 9170 and AFAIK that bag always had exactly the same guitar-type strap (narrow at the buckle holes and then widens) as the one in the listing, and so did the Retro version from 1991 and later versions from 1997. I'm not seeing any problems other than the seller's photography skills.

Item Name: Authentic coach shoulder bag

Comments: The creed is slightly readable though..

I haven't had the chance to own anything from Coach since there is no actual Coach store/ retailer here in my area and there are aloooottt of fakes being sold just about every corner. But I'm really curious to own a Coach bag, so I hope any of these are good. :sweatdrop:

Unfortunately, we don't recommend buying from sellers in the Philippines because we've seen many fakes that are often difficult for a non-expert to identify as such.

In the case of the listings you've posted, even if I felt comfortable with those bags, I can't recommend the sellers.

As with many Filippino sellers, they manipulate the brand names, spelling of brands, uses keywords and abbreviations to get additional search exposure and otherwise add to their exposure to list items in ways that keep them under the radar.

For example, the first seller, chatterbucks2008 has a listing for an LV bag in which she uses "VUITTONs" in the title, presumably to avoid having her listing scrutinized by VeRO (the manufacturer) or those who know the brand.

The other seller, mamamiabags14 has listings with "C" or "CC" as the brand for Coach, blurry pictures and comments that imply that listings may have been flagged in the past. In this listing, note how she (purposely?) shows an illegible creed, thus making it very difficult to authenticate. (Perhaps someone else can look at this listing!)

mamamiabags14 also has a "Prada" bag described as "P," Gucci bag without a brand indication and many other questionable listings.

I apologize, but I recommend buyers from the Philippines avoid sellers in their country.

I think the listing with the blurry creed mentioned by BeenBurned near the end of her reply
is a genuine Janice's Legacy made in China in 2007 for the Factory Outlet stores.

Thank you, Hyacinth.

FWIW, I stand by my recommendation to avoid PH listings when possible.

I agree, especially when the seller plays those games with VeRO by trying to disguise the actual name of the manufacturer. That tells me that they've been restricted in listing Coach products, probably because they've already been reported for selling fakes or because Ebay.ph. does it automatically.

Hi I was wondering if you could take a look at this. I just bought it on a wim. Made in NYC which always interests me. Is this authentic? What is the style? Time frame it was made? Also what is the color? The seller says green gray.. Which I'm not sure was a color back then!? Is it really dried out black? Or is it an olive color? Plmk! What you guys think! Thank you so much! And thank you guys for authenticating my other posts. I don't always get to thank you, but I do really appreciate it!:)

I have a question. As I browse eBay looking at all the Coach bag styles for sale, occasionally I will notice bags where the C's in the signature pattern do not touch. Aren't the C's supposed to touch? Attached are some examples of non-touching C bags.

There's nothing wrong with either of those designs. When Coach first started using signature, there was only one type of C pattern, and in that one the Cs touch. Over the years, Coach has made many different C patterns. When authenticating, you should only compare the pattern to known authentic versions of the same style.

Thanks ladies. I didn't read about the double exposure duh! (Though if it was my listing I would have uploaded another pic).

Re the strap, I have a few Classic Pouches, including a pre-creed, and they all have the tapered strap, however this one does seem extra wide. I suppose it could be the angle of the photo.
