Super kind seller, responded immediately to my request for creed pic but maybe my eyes aren't working because I only see 3 numbers for style. And weren't the perf styles much much later than 2000? It has a bid and auction ends Tuesday.

All sorts of nonsense with this listing. Have a request in for creed and more pics. But they state it is style #301 and brown when picture is obviously a black bag.

Are there Coach 3 digit styles?

TIA.

There ARE a lot of 3-digit style numbers but that isn't one of them. The fourth digit either wasn't stamped correctly or has worn off. The bag is one of two Legacy East Perforated Hobos and is probably either 9217 or 9218, and that line was introduced in the Holiday 2000 catalog and the style numbers are all in the same sequence and within 10 numbers of each other..

The second bag doesn't look the slightest bit familiar and with only one photo and no creed or serial number photos I wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole. There is not, nor was there ever, anything similar with a -301 style number, and the details of the bag aren't correct for any style that would have been made when Coach was using 3-digit style numbers. The seller also has 4 or 5 Negatives and Neutrals because of bags and clothing that, in the words of more than one buyer, "reeked of cigarette smoke". I can't prove that it's fake but from the picture and the "style number" listed by the seller it's very probably fake. "-301" is a number often found in Korean fakes. It could also have been found in a bag made before 1994 but that purse doesn't look anything like any bag from that time period and NONE of the details match anything done by Coach, then or now.

The first one is authentic. It's style 9217 but the seven isn't showing in the picture. It's called Legacy East Perforated Leather Mini Hobo.

The second one needs a creed picture but I'm willing to bet that it's a Korean made fake bag with 301-01 or similar as the serial number.

In answer to your question about 3-digit style numbers, yes, there are some from about 9-10 years ago.

ETA: Hyacinth beat me!!

ETA again: I recommend avoiding the second seller, uptowngirl_2013 like the plaque, not only because her feedback stinks but her listings are wonky.

The Coach bag you asked about is the same bag as she listed here as Tignanello:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tignanello-...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

This listing shows a Coach creed but the bag was a Fossil bag:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fossil-Expl...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

These listings show a Juicy Couture bag but the bags for sale aren't Juicy:
COACH Soho Slim Duffle Crossbody, Messanger Handbag Carmel Brown #1452

Brahmin Jody Toasted Almond Tri-Color Leather Shoulder, Hobo, Sathcel Handbag

Francesco Biasia Black Leather Satchel, Tote Handbag

At best, she's flaky and confused. At worst, she's a scammer!

Thank you both very very much, BB and Hyacinth.

I am relieved the first bag is authentic because the seller is really very nice and on the ball.

Yeah, I will avoid uptowngirl_2013 and will be surprised if she(?) even responds.

Good to know about the 3 digit styles, that perf isn't as recent as I thought, etc.
Always learning here and I appreciate everyone's time and patience.

(I still can't figure out how to reply to 2 posts :choochoo:)

Hi guys, I have this orange courier that I would like to rehab. As I was looking through it I noticed it has a very different zipper that a lot of the other NYC bags I have. I am pretty sure it is authentic, but I never hurts to check! Thanks!!
The zipper doesn't look right but I don't see any other problems with the bag. Maybe the zipper was replaced.

Genuine.

Also - the belts look ok, but although the age of the wallet seems right, the stitching seems uneven. But as I've said before, older and vintage wallets aren't my specialty.

Thanks, Hyacinth...the Lindsay IS navy...yay!

I don't see any problems with the wallet but wait for other opinions.

The belts are fine.

Thanks, BeenBurned...I'll watch for other replies :)

The newest proveably genuine bag I've found from the G plant was from August 1998, an H8G- code. The entire serial font is completely different from the one in your photo. Here's a photo of a slightly older one but it has the same details as the H8G- serial and also has an outlet mark. The entire serial prefix including the "No" as well as the 9s in the style number are all different. I always like to see evidence from the bag construction that backs up the "fake" diagnosis but I think we've seen several other bags with that wonky serial font that also had other problems to say that it's almost certainly fake.

As for the N code, it would be very unusual to see that mistake made at a US plant, although it's possible.

Another problem is the shape of the rings holding the top strap, the fake has rectangular rings and the genuine Top Handles have D-rings. And I think you or Whateve mentioned a day or two ago that style 9992 doesn't seem to have been made much later that the early part of 1997. Has anyone found any genuine versions with a Summer 1998 date code? The Daypack was introduced in 1998 and was very similar to the Top Handle except for having a front flap instead of the front pocket, and they also still had the original leather Backpack #529 in production which was the same size as the Top Handle #9992. I don't think they would have sold three such similar styles at the same time.
Thank you for the detailed info.

Are you saying the listing from drake0930 is fake and reportable or is there not enough information?

Note that if fake, it's not drake0930 's first rodeo in dealing with fakes:
