Coach didn't make classics in fun colors like these but they did make a few small bags and accessories in a similar color in the mid 90s. I have a small Legacy flap in aqua, which actually looks more like mint.

It's sooooo cuuuuuute. I'm dying. I really need one of these cutesy aqua/mint/seafoam/what have you colored bags. Agh!

You might also want to refer the seller, Patricia R. here.

If she's an honest seller, maybe she'll be amenable to an education.

BTW, that's a strange listing -- albeit absolutely fake anyway.
1. Her picture as posted by you looks mint green
2. Her title states the color as blue
3. Her pictures 2 and 3 look white or ivory
4. Her creed picture looks blue
5. The hangtag in picture #1 looks different from the hangtag in picture #2. Are these pictures all the same bag?

Yeah, it is a strange listing - I figured that the second two pictures were just really retouched/contrast increased so that the details were easier to see? I have no idea. Anyway, the seller replied very quickly after I gave her my reasons for thinking it was a fake bag, along with some links, and she did her own research, and also came to the same conclusion. The listing has been removed (item no longer available). She's been a doll and I don't think she intended on selling a fake bag. Yay! Happy ending?

Hi, can someone look at this listing. I'm always attracted to the Sonoma style. This one is supposedly lime green and I just wondered, based on Hyacinth's recent posts regarding off beat colors, whether this was authentic. The creeds are so hard to read on Sonomas and this one is no exception plus it's really wonky.

Thanks in advance.
Coach did make a couple of greens in the Sonoma line. One was actually called lime, although it was a muted color. This bag, however, is not authentic. Even though you can't read the serial number, the wording on the creed is wrong for a Sonoma. The inside zipper pull is also wrong.

I've had some problems rehabbing lightweights. They tended to fade and spot easily. But the leather is so soft. The last bag I did was a faded blue. I touched up the trim but left the rest of the bag alone because I didn't want to do anything that might change the softness of the leather. The bag in the listing looks to be in great condition.
Thanks, whateve.

Thanks, now that I look closer I see that they are indeed brass zippers.

I've rehabbed three lightweights, two were no problems one just didn't absorb the conditioner evenly and I wasn't happy with the color. The other two were actually lighter, one was white and one was putty/taupe-which came out beautifully with a wash and condition.

Thanks, I have so many to rehab now I have to review the threads to bolster my nerve.

I already know the answer but this is for the benefit of the seller

Comments: It will be a small miracle if this is authentic seeing as the serial isn't for this bag :)
Yes it's fake. Wrong style number. The K plant was used for China in 1994, not the US. The solid brass on the buckles is even more evidence.

It's copying a Soho Bag style 4082. It probably has fake "solid brass" buckles too, those shouldn't be on a Lightweight or Soho bag since the solid brass ones were heavier than the brass-plated and would have defeated the purpose of a Lightweight bag. The most recent genuine bag I've seen with Solid Brass stamped buckles is one of my Dakotas from 1991-92.

The K plant code worries me a bit too. It's been in one or two bags from 1994 that seem to be genuine but it's also been in fakes with 1994 year codes. After 1994 it disappears for a while and then reappears as a China-only code in the early 2000s.

This is just an editorial OT comment.

Presumably, a "top rated seller" has worked hard to earn her TRS status and reputation. So why would she risk it all for a handbag, especially when authenticating it would be so easy? There are so many free forums where she can get a free authentication and for further buyer reassurance, $7 is a small price to pay for a professional authentication. I just don't get it.
