Yeah. Large, gaudy plastic fake ones lol.
Word on the street here in my area (& I dont disagree ;) ) is that our local GWs cherrypick the stock, and put the 'good stuff' up for auction online at shopgoodwill these days. Which is fine... their preogative -- but sadly makes their retail stores not worth my time anymore.
:-(

I work at goodwill so I get to see what they put out. Where I am they seem to know the difference but don't bother putting any online. They just lock them up. Part of it is my help. Lol they were pricing the real ones too low and the fakes too high.

I often find the best items on the racks (with what they think are fakes) and the junk (fakes) locked up at high prices. It's nice when they don't recognize the difference but I feel bad for the customers who pay big bucks for the fakes.

I hate seeing fakes locked up. I've spoken up though and they fixed that recently. They even raised the prices because of me! ::smile::

Right? Can still find those bargoons
occasionally at my other thrifts.. I had a clerk very confidently inform me that a made in NYC bag I grabbed off a rack was fake because... "Everyone knows that all COACH bags are made in CHINA"

But no such luck at our local GWs any more, I think they are just too handbag savvy, darn them!

That's funny but it's a good thing I guess that they know what they have.

Are you and they aware that they aren't even supposed to sell fakes at all? Non-profit thrifts seem to believe they are exempt from the law but that's incorrect.

I'm sure this is true at every Goodwill I've been in.

Item: Coach #9755 bag in British Tan
Number: 251296929414
Seller: desatm
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/251296929414?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Comments: I ended up purchasing this bag because I BELIEVE it is authentic... But I just wanted to double check with those a bit more knowledgable on the topic than I. Thank you in advance for all of your help! :)
The bag looks authentic, but the seller must have been confused when answering the question posted in the listing. The strap isn't adjustable, it isn't solid brass hardware, and those aren't the correct measurements. The bag looks like it is in great condition.

I think I bid on a fake coach after doing some research but I am not 100% sure.http://www.ebay.com/itm/111110283987?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1431.l2649
If it is a fake one, what should I do? :(
That bag is definitely fake. Style #9953 belongs to a duffle bag.

It looks like the auction has 3 days left to run, if the bag is reported and eBay pulls the listing, you don't have anything to worry about. If you want to cancel now, you can contact the seller and let them know your concerns and request to cancel your bid.

If the auction goes through and you end up being the high bidder, you can open a case with eBay to cancel the sale if the seller isn't cooperative.

You should just be able to cancel your bid. Tell the seller the bag is a confirmed fake - there's NOTHING right about it. It's a mishmosh of details from both a Station Bag and a Willis, and none of the details are even right. The strap is a cheap copy and should never have rivets at the ends, the turnlock leather pieces are trying to look like a Willis piece but the shape and detials are wrong, and there's no dowel at the top - so what is it, a Willis or a Station Bag? It's a cheap ripoff of both styles. Not to mention the phony serial number.

From now on, please ask here BEFORE you bid. And wherever you're doing "research", you're not getting the right answers. That's something that should be done before bidding, especially when there's plenty of time left in the auction. If there are only a few minutes left and you don't have time to ask for other opinions, don't bid.
