Interesting. That style was made in the early 1980s, but the creed and serial number are for a bag from about ten years later. The style was called a Pony Express Pouch, style 9670, and I think it may have been one of the dozen or two older and vintage styles that Coach remade in limited numbers for their 50th Anniversary celebration in 1991. The original style was probably discontinued around 1983.

I don't have a 1991 catalog showing it and have never seen photos of it as a re-issue, but here's Coach's pic from a 1982 catalog, the measurements are close enough to be a match.

Hello! I know nothing about Coach or bags...but I'm CRAZY about this style!! I am considering purchasing, please help me authenticate!!:amuse::amuse:
I really appreciate the help, thank you!:D:D:D

The first one looks good.

I can't read the creed stamp in the second one as well as I need to in order to say for sure that it's ok, sorry. If the seller can take a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number we can take another look.

FAKE!!!

And how can anyone call it pre-1994 when there's a 1998 year code right on the creed? The serial number is still fake but if the seller got the information on the year from Coach, there's one MORE reason to never trust what a Coach phone or store rep tells you.

The serial number is on my Fakes List - "A8M-4896 - ALWAYS fake and probably wouldn't have been used in a purse", the font of the serial number digits is wrong, the creed stamp details are wrong and a 1998 bag would never say "Made in the United States" at the bottom, among other mistakes. I really hope you're not the "winning" bidder - if you are, DON'T PAY.

We're going to keep saying it - check the Fakes Lists, either mine here at tPF or Daria48's at Ebay before bidding or buying.

Thank you, hyacinth! Nope, didn't bid, as it had me very suspicious. I only authenticated because if it was real, it was a great price! It's shutting the stable door after the horse as bolted but I'll report the item.

Your knowledge is greatly appreciated :D

1- genuine

2- genuine, probably made between the mid-1970s to the early 1980s

3- genuine, but sellers should never advertise a Coach item as "Bonnie Cashin" unless the item was made while she was at Coach and I don't this one was although it may be based on one of her deigns. It's a Marketing Tote style 9665 probably made sometime after she left the company (1975), so late 70s to mid-80s. Most styles listed on Ebay with Cashin in the description have no direct connection with her. Cashin bags usually won't have creeds or serial numbers.

4- genuine Morgan Briefcase, probably early 1990s.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Can you please help me take a look at this bag and see if it's authentic? Thank you!!!

The Station Bag itself looks genuine but the strap is a later replacement. The rivets at the strap ends and the style of the clips are not what Coach uses.

Wow thanks! I wasn't even sure there were fake charms/fobs.

There are a LOT of fake keychains and charms, mostly the metal ones but fake leather styles like this one are out there too. Keychains and wallets are faked even more than purses. Having keychain purchases authenticated here is always a good idea.

Thank you for the quick and very helpful response!

I've read the posts at the other forum and done some searching. All the other examples of that style - 41537 - listed at Ebay show brass grommets around the buckle holes. And from what I remember, Coach didn't start making Checkbook wallets with extra credit card slots in the bottom half until several years ago, this style from 2008(?) shouldn't have them.

In fact a quick Google of "Coach wallet 41537" has a site showing your wallet very near the top of the Google page, with the extra CC slots and without the correct grommets around the buckle holes. the site says "Our bags are cheaper than retail, this is simply because we source them direct from overseas where the currency and selection is better." That translates to "Our stuff is cheaper because we buy fakes from China". There's also an identical fake to yours at the "i" site - and the items shown with the wallet PROVE it's fake - with the same incorrect details as the one you asked about. And it's supposedly NWT and being sold for $46. Yeah, right.

Sorry, everything I'm finding points to it being fake

Thank you Hyacinth! I think I would like the original strap. I found a few more Coach station bags on ebay. What do you think? :)
