I guess I forgot to hit submit, for the extra pics of the British Tan Willis, sorry!

Sorry, it's fake. Did you happen to notice the spelling of "marXings"?

Check the Fake Serial Numbers list, posts 549, 550 and 551 at the Answers thread. In fact, you may want to print it out and take it with you when you go shopping.

After I posted the highlighted photos I could see the mis-spellings. I couldn't make them out in the store. Thanks!

For everyone posting photos, here's a hint on how to save some time:

For classic and vintage bags (before 2000), the most important details besides the front of the bag are in the creed stamp. If you only take one or two pics of the actual bag plus one of the creed and use that in the first set of photos that you post, I can tell you if you need to take any more. Including the creed and serial number in the first few photos can make it unneccessary to take any more.

Yep, the creed and serial ARE that important. :smile1:

And sometimes just one look at the creed can tell us everything we need to know

I guess I forgot to hit submit, for the extra pics of the British Tan Willis, sorry! Oh no! Now that I see the creed highlighted - it looks like it has mis-spelled words! I couldn't make it out in the store!
Oh, no! After all that effort to get it and it's fake. That's a bummer.

I got a little mixed up posting photos last night - my only excuse is that I was taking pain killers because I just got out of the hospital! The original pics of the unusual Costa Rican Willis bag are at the link below and I will post additional pics including the creed with this message. Sorry! And thanks for your help!

What a mess and "what I have agreed to try and fix up for a stranger!?" She made a special trip into the city to drop the bag off at my office so it was hard to say "are you kidding!?" and refuse to try and help her out. I hope at least that it is genuine because it is going to be a lot of work to do anything with it. Thanks again!
