The Savers I go to rarely have any authentic bags, let alone anything good.

I have been pretty lucky with my local Savers. I have seen some fakes there but also some very nice authentic bags. Their prices for vintage designer bags used to be more reasonable, but lately they have been getting higher and higher; too much for used bags IMO. I am always concerned that I may buy a fake or that the the rehab will fail, so I try not to invest more than $20 in a bag.

One thing that I really appreciate about Savers is that (unlike Goodwill and Salvation Army) they will let you exchange an item if you bring it back within a week with the receipt and the tag attached. That way I feel a bit more comfortable taking a chance on a possible fake.

I HATE paying any amount of my hard-earned money for a fake! When it happens and I can't get a refund or exchange, I console myself with the thought that the money is benefiting a charitable organization!

I'm just dying to share this "non-purse find" that I got at Savers at the same time that I bought the Watson bag. It is a "Judith Jack" necklace made of sterling silver, freshwater pearls, marcasites, and mother-of-pearl. It is very pretty and I only paid $6! :happydance:

The bag looks okay but take note of the marks. They appear to be magic marker and probably won't come off.

Please be patient in waiting for responses. We come here on our own time and as time allows but sometimes, real life takes precedence. It's not necessary to repost.

Thanks for the response, since this was my first time on this forum; was not sure how it works, but I do get ur point and real life should always take the precedence; anyways thanks again for ur expert advice:smile1:

It looks ok to me, but feel free to wait for more opinions
I think it's fine too.

Beautiful necklace!

I have 2 Savers that are closer to me than others and the funny thing is that the few times I've found authentic items, they've been in the "fake" and junk section and the obvious fakes were locked in a glass case.

I got a Gucci scarf for $6, a vintage Gucci for $5, a Dooney for $7 and a Coach leather wristlet (brand new) for $4.

As for getting a fake, even from a "no return" store, I wouldn't hesitate to take it back to them, read them the riot act about the illegality of selling fakes and I'd tell them I wanted my money back. So far, it hasn't been necessary that I expose my fangs because I haven't found anything worth buying at those stores!

Thanks, I am thrilled with the necklace! You've found some great buys!

But I have seen that happen too, that the real items are out with the junk and the fakes are high-priced and under glass or behind the counter. But lately my local Savers has gotten better at identifying and pricing the genuine bags. I think that they now have someone that knows what they are doing pricing the bags; but they are often priced too highly IMO.

They've had a small camel leather demi priced for $45 behind the counter for several weeks and it is missing the hang tag and has bad ink marks all over - even on the front flap! I wouldn't spend more than $5 bucks on it because I probably couldn't eliminate the ink marks.

More and more often I am finding the less commonly known designers are cheaper priced as compared to Coach and D&B. I got a gorgeous, near mint suede and leather Furla bag for $15 at Savers!

I tried taking back a fake to the Salvation Army and they flatly refused to refund, even though I insisted on speaking to a manager and told her that it was illegal. She told me I could appeal to the corporate office but I didn't bother trying.

Another time I bought a fake Gucci bag at Savers just before I went out of town and it was more than a week after purchase when I tried to exchange it. The manager wouldn't let me do the exchange but he did apologize and gave me a 25% off coupon so that was something!

Comments: I purchased. Any red flags so far? I can't find many pictures of a Black Patent Zoe to compare. Will post more pictures when I receive.

Thanks.

She arrived today. Additional pictures by me.

Please authenticate. Thanks.

1- We do NOT recommend buying from the first seller as they have sold many fakes and apparently don't bother to authenticate their items. Search these forums for their name without the underscores or search Google for their name and "purseforum".

2- I think someone asked about that same bag just a few days ago. It has an invalid month code and I DON'T recommend buying it.

3- the third one looks ok.

Hyacinth, I'm the one who asked about the second bag. You warned me away from it!
