Item: Coach Brown Leather Handbag (Taft?)
Listing number: 160732931066

Comments: The creed number doesn't show up clearly in the photo, but the seller lists it as H5D 9980.

Thank you in advance for any opinions and help offered!

I'd really like to see the entire creed and serial number to at least check the stamping and font of the serial number. The Taft has been very well faked and the more photos, the better. There are a few things that may or may not be problems.

The position of the Coach stamp on the pocket is a bit high, and I've never seen a zipper pull like that in a Coach before - according to Coach's catalogs they only used a zipper on the inside pocket in 1995, or at least the Holiday 1995 catalog is the only one that mentions it. After that the pocket was apparently changed to an open style, at least that's how the 1996 book describes it. Of course, production details were sometimes changed between photography, catalog printing and actual production, and even months after production had started.

Coach has used at least 6 or 7 different brands of zippers and I thought I'd seen most of them but that pull shape isn't familiar. I've also looked at photos of another Taft that seems to be genuine that was made in the same month and year but at a different US plant and that one doesn't have a zipped inside pocket.

So there's a discrepancy that worries me, and I can't say for sure if it's genuine or not, sorry.

comments: I noticed in the listing that this is referred to as a "Factory" Bag, yet I don't see the "F" on the printed creed patch. Care to comment on this?

Thanks for helping!
It's fine.

In this case, it's not a MFF (made for factory) item but it was purchased at the outlet. When full-priced items are sent to the outlet, they often stamp the bullet onto the creed and they (sometimes) replace the original tag with an outlet "F" style tag.

Hmm. This is tough. Although I don't see obvious red flags, I'd like to see a picture of the other side of the price tag. The outside is shown in pic #3 but the info on the inside is often helpful in authentication. The other pictures seem to be okay.

Another concern is that her description states that she's selling it because she received/is using a Miu Miu wallet, yet she's also selling the Miu Miu:

Other opinions are welcome.

Yes.. I notice that too, have asked her and she say that she got an new LV wallet therefore she selling both away..

She say she bought this from another seller so not sure of got the price tag
