Hey everyone, I recently purchased this bag off ebay and it just arrived. I have concerns about its authenticity. In the pictures I have included, I'm seeing minor odd stitching on the crossbody strap (in the pictures it is where that kink is) and crooked/uneven stitching on the bottom of the bag (last picture). Everything else seems great however, the leather is soft and wonderful, everything else seems to be ok. Is anyone able to detect other tell tale signs? I;m really worried since I paid alot for this! Please help! Thanks so much!

Actually on yet another inspection, the leather is not okay. It does not respond to leather conditioner and has an odd PVC like smell. Im almost certain this is fake.

I do not see a problem with it. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Where the piping is sewn to the bag, the thickness can cause problems stitching. It could have been done on a bad machine or may have even been sent in for repairs. The side of the strap is like that from the buckle hitting it.

Sometimes, the British Tan Beekmans have a slightly different feel to them than the black ones. That is normal.

Believe it or not, I sent a Beekman in for repair and their job was terrible. I would have rather banged the dowel out of the bag myself and had my tailor try to stitch it.

I was trying to see if there was a bullseye anywhere on it.

Oh and BTW, this bag never sold for $600. Sellers are exaggerating their prices &/or copying their price from other sellers.

Hello guys, thanks for your help I really do appreciate it. And no it didnt come with a bullseye. So I shouldnt worry about the fact that it doesnt quite feel like leather, doesnt respond to leather cleaner, and smells like PVC? Oh yes and I forgot to mention the fact that there is a layer of something like sticky scotch tape under the flap where the creed is which attaches to the back of the bag. Thanks no shoe polish, just wanted to triple check. :) Im sorry about the bad repair job....

I can't send you a message since you don't have enough posts but I enlarged the photos of the bag I sent to Coach and the bottom stitching along the piping is just as bad as yours.

The interior of your bag is definitely suede and sometimes the bags have a funky feel to them because they are new. I just think your bag has not been broken in yet. JMHO.

I do not have a Beekman in stock to check the other thing you mentioned.
