I found this info on eBay after I purchased the purse.

The Inside Emblem Tag, Creed Patch: This is where the knock-off designers are getting better, they are taking actual imprinted tags and copying them exactly, the wording USED to be different, but todays replicas have actual wording in them (the good replicas do anyway) if it is missing a serial #, it is obviously a fake. The leather is always the same soft supply feel, and a lot of times, if the bag is from a Coach Store (outlet) it will have a small stamp on the corner, it will look like a hole punch, without puncturing the leather. This little circle is a good indication the bag is authentic.

Here is how to tell if the Creed is fake:
Creed Examples:

REAL: NoM05J-117
(letters & numbers are flush, no spaces)
FAKE: No M05J - 117
(if there are ANY spaces, ANYWHERE in the creed- it is NOT real)

Most of those so-called Rules are wrong for some bags and some time periods. DON'T EVER rely on this kind of nonsense.

Some smaller bags like Swingpacks, Demis and Pouches may or may not have serial numbers.

Some bags from the mid 1990's from the Sheridan line won't have serial numbers.

Not all Outlet bags have that round stamp, AND that stamp has also shown up in fakes.

Some bags WILL have gaps in the serial number, especially bags made before the mid-2000s.

Please ignore the so-called Guides on Ebay and anywhere else on the Internet - 99 percent of them are partly or COMPLETELY wrong.

Oh, and having or not having zippers that say YKK does absolutely NOT prove that a Coach is real or fake, just to clarify another so-called "Rule".

I'm hoping someone can help identify this one. Please let me if you need other pictures.

Thanks for looking.

The black messenger #9433 is a Metro Small Bucket Bag from 2000 - great unisex bag!

The City Bag from NYC is ok.

The tote needs a full-length shot of the side of the bag including a bit of the top and zipper, and also needs measurements - always a good idea with older bags that don't include the style number since Coach made many similar styles in different sizes and this shape has been a mainstay of their collection for about 40 years so the vintage experts will probably need to know the measurements. My guess would be a Slim Satchel of some kind but that's just a guess. It looks ok though.

You have a GREAT eye for Coach!

I kind of thought that, after the fact. I'll get that for you.
