I am wanting to buy a Coach purse I saw online. The lady selling it swears it is genuine, but when I called the local Coach store, the Coach outlet, AND the 1-888 Coach customer service #, no one could help me. I really want to buy this bag, but am now worried it could be a fake. The lady says maybe the stores had problems finding it because it is an older model. anyway, here is the serial # if someone can help me: G3Q-9340 also, if you need a picture of the purse, go to this link to see it:

I'm not entirely sure of the exact name, but I owned that same bag at one time in the Denim Blue color.

It's from 2003 and I have it as a "Coach Retro Hippie" - style number 9340.

I can't begin to imagine why Coach couldn't answer a simple question about a bag that's only 6 years old.

:smile1:

I just got this as a gift from a friend. She said it was gifted to her, she dont use it and knows I love Coach, so she gave it to me.

Is this authentic?

Comments: a seller with no feedback? would you? please authenticate
Thanks in advance!

I can't help you decide if the seller is trustworthy or not but as long as you get the bag in the photo you'll be ok. Just be sure to pay with Paypal funded by a credit (NOT debit) card. I'd like to see a better pic of the creed but it's very hard to photograph it on that style bag unless you know the trick of pulling the lining out. Here's one from a Trusted Seller for comparison:

If you search Ebay for "Coach gracie" you'll find several others listed. The bag was from the Madison line which was Coach's top line in the mid 90s. Pay attention to the measurements though, it's a very small bag.

It looks fine but a picture of the inside and back would be helpful.

Personally, I haven't seen mini skinny coin purses faked because they're fairly inexpensive for the authentic ones. It's probably not worth the fakers' time to copy.

Thank you SO very much! I was starting to worry that this great find may be a complete fake. I have no idea why the retail AND the outlet stores could not answer me concerning the authenticity of this purse...was very strange. I can only guess that their database only holds up to a certain year and I guess a six year old bag is going back too far. As for the Coach customer service #, calling them is a TOTAL waste of time. The woman told me they would never be able to tell you if a bag is genuine or fake simply because the makers of the fake bags are now using AUTHENTIC Coach serial #'s! That is what she told me anyway. So that is an FYI for anyone thinking the Coach customer service folks will help. Again I appreciate your help. I plan on buying this purse this weekend...yippee! :-)
