Ok I'm going to ask possibly one of the dumbest questions in handbag history, but here goes.... :blushing:

I have taken the pic from eBay (from a previous thread here) for the purpose of this question.

Is this a creed?
And, the Number at the Bottom below is significant right? Is that what I was reading as BOTH being required to represent authenticity ?

Yes, "creed" actually means a statement of belief and commitment but with Coaches it means the stamped statement itself that states the construction of the bag and Coach's commitment to quality. It's come to mean the entire patch (or stamping, on many older unlined leather bags). The serial number is a critical part of the bag that includes a ton of information and is something we always ask for, but JUST BECAUSE A BAG HAS A CREED PATCH AND A SERIAL NUMBER DOESN'T PROVE IT'S AUTHENTIC.

Fakes almost always have creeds and serial numbers, sometimes even accurate ones. The entire creed including codes and fonts is important, but not enough to prove a bag is real.

And some smaller bags like some Swingpacks, Wristlets, Demis, Pouches, etc, may have no creed, a creed with no serial number, or a creed with a serial number. So on smaller bags the presence or absence of a creed or a number does NOT prove it's real or fake. There is no one or even two things that can prove a Coach is real just because those items are present. The entire item has to be analyzed, regardless of what all those hundreds of useless Buying or Authenticity Guides claim about how you can know if a Coach is fake or not just from the zipper or how many digits are in the serial number. If you're basing your opinions of authenticity on any of those Guides, please wash out everything you've read with a good dose of Brain Bleach and ask for authentication here instead, and post pictures of the creed patch, the bag, the hardware, and any tags that came with the bag.

Hi there,
Could you help me authenticate this?

Item: COACH Madison Leather Checkbook Wallet
Listing number: 370304206603
Seller: tuneez
Link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370304206603
Comments: I've actually been watching this for quite a while back now. The first time I missed buying it but I didn't delete it from my watching list. When I was clearing my list one day I noticed the seller relisted it - same pictures with same tags and receipt (as shown in the pictures), everything. The second listing got bought too so I decided to keep it in my watch list to see if the seller would relist it again - and they did. This is the third time so I'm kind so suspicious about this item now.

It would help if anyone can authenticate this. I fear the seller might be using a picture of an original item (receipt and all) and post a fake instead.

Replies are much appreciated
There really should be more picture but based on what I'm seeing, the wallet in the pictures looks good.

The seller may have purchased multiples from Macy's when she bought them. Many sellers will use the same pictures when they have multiples of NWT items.

In general, Macy's doesn't limit buyers to a certain number of items (as does Coach) so if a buyer wants to buy multiples, Macy's is only too happy to sell them.

Item: COACH TATTERSALL CREAM CASHMERE SCARF MUFFLER 98392 NWT

Comments: I don't know if scarves can be authenticated but I thought that I would try. Also..this may should crazy but do you think that this was bought at the Coach outlet? I don't know if it's possible to tell. Thanks in advance!
It looks fine.

Yes, this scarf came from the outlet. On the tag, in the upper left, the "F" in front of the style number indicates that it came from a factory outlet.

It looks fine from what I can see.
Thank you. I'll post pictures after I receive the purse. I am so excited and thanks again ladies--I have learned so much from my short time of visiting this forum. Without you all I may have never agreed to purchase a purse outside of the Coach boutique, Coach outlet or a fine department store. I am still leary about Ebay but maybe one day :)

Comments:Please authenticate. Thanks!

The auction has ended, but there needs to be more pictures of the bag, including a closeup picture of the creed.

Seller has sent more pics for this bag.Pls help to authenticate. TIA!

Just saw the extra pics. Wonder why the seller couldn't have included these pictures in the auction? While it looks ok from the two pics, I wouldn't be comfortable buying from the seller without seeing more pictures of the back, bottom, sides of the bag, hangtag and hardware. If the seller wants to be a successful ebay seller, he/she needs to learn that more than one picture is needed in auctions for Coach.
