Hello,
First off, I am new to the Purse Forum; next I am definitely not an expert on Coach Bags but I have owned and purchased quite a few, over the last 15 years.
When viewing this EBay auction, and pictures, I noticed the stripes on this "Legacy" wallet are vertical. Almost the entire line of the Legacy stripped purses, have horizontal stripes. Although, the "Bonnie" Legacy Stripped wallet I believe are vertically stripped. I personally don't own one but I remember the wallet having a flap closure and not a snap closure.

As I said, I am not an expert but I would be suspicious of the authenticity of this EBay "Coach" item.

Welcome to tPF.

This wallet is made with VERTICAL stripes. That part of the wallet isn't in question.

The thing that's being questioned is that the colors of the stripes don't match on the flap and the main part of the wallet.

This is the drilldown picture of the wallet:

The only possible way it can be authentic is if it's a MFF color. That shade of green was never made. There were two other greens made and one was patent. Also the size of the bag doesn't fit the strap. I'm not an outlet shopper, so hopefully someone can chime in who is that can verify this was not MFF.

I'm sorry I was just looking out for the poor person that was going to be buying that poorly made fake. Since I was 99.9 sure it was a fake I thought I was just verify since it has been relisted again. I knew it was in no way shape or form an audrey and was a sabrina and that there was never a green in that color produced. I do shop the outlets and there are no MFF Sabrinas only FP deletes. I just was trying to help. I am sorry to have ruffled any feathers. My husband tells me to keep my nose out of other peoples business but it just seems unfair that there are bids on that bag and someone is going to ger screwed. Buyer beware. I do believe in my heart that this 100% fake now. Any other takers in what they think?

I'll say up front that I'm by no means an expert at this but I do believe that this is a fake. I know that it's hard to tell from just one picture but there are a lot of wrong things in just one picture. For one, look at the "price tag" Coach has never had tags that look like that. It looks exactly like all the other fakes that are on the bay. Also, Coach has never made (as of yet) MFF Sabrinas. And they never made this "jade" color. These are just my feelings.

I don't know whether the bag was made in green but if it was made in green, there certainly aren't enough pictures to determine authenticity.

Please don't ever report any item unless and until you are absolutely positive it's fake. You cannot report bags that you're "almost positive" are fake and then come here to ask about authenticity.

Too many sellers of authentic bags have their accounts dinged when people do that.

Wait for other opinions on authenticity. In the mean time, you might want to request pictures of the creed, plaque, hardware, lining, strap closeup, sides of the bag.

I just looked again at the lisitng and I see that the strap looks wrong. Because of the tiny picture, I can't tell diddly about the tags, but if the bag were from a consignment shop or thrift shop, they might have put their own tags on it.

My main point was that an item should never be reported without being sure that it's fake. And the poster said that she was "almost sure" it's fake, reported, then came here to "make sure."

I'm certainly not one to advocate for a fake seller. If the bag is fake, I want to see it removed. (And anyone who knows me will vouch for me!) But I would rather see a fake listing run to completion than see an honest seller's listing removed.

I'm sorry I should have said that I am positive it is fake but yet it has been relisted. I didn't realize this was possibe. I figured I better be on the safe side since it was relisted. I hate to see someone get scammed. Poorly listed words on my part. Now I feel like a complete jerk/loser. I'm sorry.

Hello,
Thank you for the welcome. I realize the vertical stripes on the wallet, are not what the OP had questioned. I wanted to point out that almost all of the Coach legacy bags, which contain stripes are horizontal. I thought the OP should be aware of this.
Also, the "Bonnie" (Not the Legacy) collection, of stripes (bags, wallets, and accessories) have vertical lines, which do match up, perfectly.

Hope I have been helpful.

I understand your intentions. I wasn't sure about the color and initially, couldn't (or didn't) see enough details to know whether it's fake or not.

In comparing the strap to my own Sabrina and reading other "problems" with the bag, I agree that it's not authentic.

We're all here to help protect unknowing buyers from getting ripped off, so in that respect, we're all on the same page.

I just wanted to make the point that we all need to be absolutely sure of un-authenticity before any reports are filed.

Hey no problem. I really do hate to think that someone is getting scammed. I am a self doubter by nature though. I do agree that we need to be 100% sure which is why I didn't ask to begin with. Heck maybe this seller really believes it is authentic. That is a shame too. Thanks for taking the time to look further into it.

This is not true. Most of the legacy bags (at least from 2006 to present) have vertical, NOT horizontal stripes. I'm not sure where you are getting your information.

looking at a cashin tote that I have not seen before....is this one authentic? I have seen the one with all canvas, but what about this one?
thanks
