Thank you for that information. I did compare it to the same bag, but perhaps that bag was made in a different year. I do know that Coach redoes the same bags over and over year after year.

Yes, and they often re-release them for the outlets.

Up until the last 2 or 3 years, the serial numbers were stamped my a mechanism that was manually changeable, like an old-style printing press or one of those changeable date stamps you still sometimes find in offices. I haven't seen any pics or drawings of the new creed stamping system but it's a lot more precise, and there are a lot less variation between creeds from different plants then there used to be. Some of the older creed and serial number stampings were so unique to each plant that even if I didn't know the plant code I would still be able to tell where the bag came from just by the fonts they used.

Understand too that every time Coach put a new plant on line, there was always a "debugging" period where things like creed and serial stampings and the precision of the stitching around the creed patch would be a bit shaky for a few months until the new employees got the hang of how Coach wanted it. When they moved production to China, new plants were coming on line constantly. You can almost tell how long a plant had been in full production just by the way the creeds were sewn.

There's a lot of background history involved in something as seemingly simple as a creed patch, and you always have to take into account what was going on with Coach during that time period. And for authenticity purposes, it's usually the most important part of any Coach, at least on bags older than about 2 years. That's why I don't get too involved in authenticating newer styles, the creeds are just becoming too "cookie cutter" and aren't as useful (or interesting) as they were before.

Wowee, that is a lot of good information. I started studying Coach Bags in 2005, and all of the serial no.s I have seen since then have been pretty even, but that is really awesome information to know about the older ones. Thank you. ;)

Comments: I believe this is a stock photo - should I ask about real photos before I buy? Thanks!

Sellers should never use stock photos. And especially for items as highly faked as wallets, sellers need to have multiple clear and definitive pictures of all the details to prove their items are authentic.

The seller has been accused of selling fake Burberry. I'm not a Burberry expert, so I can't comment on those. BB, what do you think about the seller's sold Coach items? I wonder why they're all swingpacks and all different styles of swingpacks, all packaged the same way. I wonder where the seller is getting them from?

I have no idea where she's buying them wrapped like that. I've had to order and have items shipped and I've never received any item with all that tissue wrap. Have you?

I asq'ed the seller. Let's see if I get an answer.

Thanks DemRam and BB on the two coach bags... just realised seller does not ship outside of USA... :pout:

My new target, have requeated for a close-up of the creed:

item: Coach 9061 Beige Tan Signature Clip Hobo Bag Handbag

seller: squeezybug

I tried researching this seller in the forum, no info on him/her save for the fact someone asked to authenticate a Prada from this seller, but her query was not answered. Would appreciate help on this, thanks! :flowers:

The listing looks fine.

You may want to contact the seller and ask her to double-check the serial number. I can't read the creed but 9061 isn't the correct style number for this bag. A good close-up of the creed would help.

The bag looks genuine but it would still be a very good idea to verify the number.
She transposed the numbers. It's 6091.

Hi, this is my first post on tPF. I have found tPF to be a great resource and I enjoy reading everyone’s posts. I am thinking about purchasing a small black patent Sabrina. There are two currently listed on Bonanzle. Both listings indicate that the sellers are tPF members so I trust their representations, however, I rarely shop through auction or buy/sell sites and I just want to be absolutely sure before I make a purchase. Thank you!
