The small black Patent Sabrina is style #12957 and it did have amber hardware.
This is very interesting. This is the third time I've seen a bag with a 99999 style number. The first time was an Espresso Sabrina, the second time was a Steel Sabrina, and this time it's a black Patent Sabrina.
There have been discussions about the meaning of a bag with this unusual number both here and on the ebay boards. It could be an early prototype version; a bag that was made to be used in a photo shoot; or a "sample" bag. What puzzles me about this one, though, is the serial number on the creed. The other Sabrinas that I've seen with the 99999 style number on the creed were consistent with the correct year on the creed around the time the Sabrina style first came out. This creed, however, indicates that it was made in June 2006, which was way before the Sabrina was even in existence. I have no explanation for why the date code would say this.
As with the other Sabrinas with the 99999 style number, the details all looked good and were consistent with genuine Coach quality. There were a few differences from the production versions: variations in the lining color, variations in the color of the hangtags and the color of the logo plaque on the front. I know that Coach's pilot bags can have details that differ from the final version, so these differences weren't a concern to me. But the date on this creed has me stumped. Otherwise, the other details of the bag look ok.
I'd like to hear some thoughts from others, especially those who were involved in the previous discussion on the other 99999 bag or anyone who might know about this number. I'll update if I learn more.
