Somewhat urgent request... I'm begging the help of anyone who knows about the "vintage" or classic Coach bags (Hyacinth? Anyone?)! Can you tell me if this is real? I searched the style # (4039), but I couldn't find it :cry:

It worries me b/c the dustbag in the background is a total fake... wishful thinking that it might just be one that's been laying around the house?

It's an authentic "Watermelon Tote" probably from the late 1970's.

4039 is NOT the style number - it is simply part of the 7 digit serial number. That bag was made long before style numbers.

I agree the dustbag is a fake but the bag isn't.

Comments: I'm a bit worried about the color on this. Is it just the flash on the photo or does the color look washed out? I've never seen a berry so pale in photos. TIA!

It looks ok. It's probably the flash that makes the color appear washed out. You can ask the seller for a picture of the bag in natural lighting without the flash. Bags that have the tag attached on the inside are usually display models. They do this in the boutiques.

I think the wallet looks okay.

Regarding the seller, I'm not familiar with this particular "isoldit" seller, but I can comment on Isoldit in general. I believe the Isoldit sellers are franchises and each is independently owned. But what I've seen seems to carry through their whole business.

They seem to be either consignment or they buy items from people who bring them in. They are not the original owners of the items they sell, they often aren't familiar with the brands that they sell and they seem to take the word of the person giving them the item on whether it's authentic and they base their listings on that person's assurance of authenticity.

Unfortunately, they have listed a lot of fakes. And being as big as they are, they don't seem to be responsive to email ASQs when informed that listings are fakes. They don't end their own listings so as a result, many of their listings end up being reported and pulled.

Perhaps they've gotten better, but this is my take on them.

I think it's a "Sonoma Pocket Zip" but give the seller your email address and ask her to send you a good creed photo. I see there are only 7 hours to go. I'm not sure if she can add photos to the auction at this point or not.

The Tomato Red is a great color too. The color in the first pic makes it look like a darker Cherry Red but it's definitely a nice Tomato shade like the pic of the top of the bag.

Hope you had the winning bid!

I didn't even notice that, it was the fact that feedback was missing for another coach bag he was selling. Thanks for your help though :) I really appreciate it!
