Item: "Black Coach Handbag"
Seller: Frantasia

Comments: I came upon this while browsing and thought it looked a bit odd. Specifically, the Coach logo on the hangtag is crooked and the creed was unfamiliar. Thanks for the help!

I think there was another post about that listing somewhere. The pictures aren't good but I don't think it's authentic.

Seller gives the first part of the serial number but leaves out the style number. Hmmm. It appears to be 1444 but this is what that style should look like:

Comments: fake
Both are bad fakes.

The second seller has a bunch more fakes. Plus, I reported that seller back in April when the seller had 6 fake Coach listings.

From your pictures, it looks like an Ergo Signature Flap, style #11602. This is the way the trim is supposed to be on this style. I don't see any problems with the other details of the bag so far, but we need to see a picture of the creed to be absolutely sure. You can see in that the turnlock is stamped in the Coach drilldown pic I've attached.

thanks...I dont know if ill be able to get a picture of the creed. It looked like the ones in my coach bags i have though. It was black patent with black stitching around and the creed was stamped into it.

I can't comment on authenticity, but the seller appears to have a good reputation.

Wait for the experts to comment on the bag.

:smile1:
Yes that is the one. Sorry about the wonky link.

That's one of the most highly respected sellers on Ebay. I would buy a Coach or other designer item from CristianValentinoCo sight-unseen.

Thanks!! How much do they go for in the outlets? Wanna make sure I don't overpay! T

Thanks again! :p

I just have a comment regarding your "not wanting to overpay."

IMO, it really shouldn't matter what they sell for at the outlet. If you're unable to get to an outlet and want the item that a seller has, it's a matter of supply and demand.

If you don't want to pay a seller a premium for doing the shopping, picture taking, listing, ebay fees, paypal fees, etc., then you can go to the outlets. But there's value in the seller's work and she's entitled to be paid for it.

Sorry, :shame: didn't mean to offend. I'm a newbie - I'm hoping to get to an outlet next month. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to get ripped off. Thanks again for your help.

That fake was reported to Bonanzle a day or two ago and the seller re-listed. I posted it at the Bonanzle Fakes thread this time, hopefuly Tom will make sure it stays pulled.

Just FYI - prices on an item at the outlets can vary from as little as 10 percent off the retail price to as much as 60 to 70 percent off if you hit exactly the right sale, and the selling prices can change daily.

Sellers also spend time, gas and toll money, sales taxes, and often a ton of energy shopping the outlets, and they also pay listing, selling AND Paypal fees when and if their merchandise gets sold. That can often come to about ten percent or more of the actual selling price. Since the Feds are starting to track the income and tax-paying records of Ebay sellers, their business almost requires an accountant to do their income taxes every year, to say nothing of the cost of business-related software to keep track of all their sales, income and expenses (plus the obvious need for a darned good backup program) .

So there's no such thing as being "ripped off" - a seller can sell an item for whatever she needs to make to cover expenses and make a decent profit, or for whatever the buyer is willing to pay.

You can Search Ebay for similar items a a better price, or you can wait for a similar item to come along at a better price (and it probably will sooner or later, especially with items that have just been at the Coach outlets), but no one is getting "ripped off" if they pay what the item is worth to THEM. And if a cheaper one pops up a few weeks later - hey, that's life.
