A bag that looks the same can still be a different style or size. Don't compare one bag against another unless you're absolutely sure it's the same style. For instance, one of the bags in the seller's listing was "borrowed" from another listing and isn't the same as the others even though it looks like it at first glance.

Serial numbers even of the same style bag can have different digits in the first half of the number too. There's a post here that explains why:

But from what I can see, the bag in the listing looks ok.

Oh okay well I have the same bag and when I talked to the costumer service at coach they looked up the numbers and said there was only two styles with that number and one was the patchwork that I have and I don't remember what the other was I just thought that if it is the same style and purse then the numbers would be the same here is a pic of my purse and you seen the one in the listing. Can you tell me if the green set I bought is real? I called on that one as well and from what they say by the style number which now days is not 100% still, anyhow can you tell me if that is real?

PLEASE don't assume that everything a Coach CSR tells you is the truth - in fact I've heard some of the worst and most inaccurate information imaginable from posters who said they heard it from someone in Coach's Customer Service department.

There is only ONE style with number 378. Almost all Coach style numbers are for only one style, but THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS, like some purse charms and keychains and quite a few of the recent Scribble bags that are still at the outlet stores. But AFAIK, #378 belongs to one specific Spring Patchwork bag. Remember too that usually all the color choices in one style will have the same style number, but again, there ARE exceptions.

As for the green and white one, it would help to see the inside patch if there is one. It's impossible to say if something's real from just one picture. And if you bought it on Ebay or another website we really need to see the seller's store or a link to her other listings.

And a word of advice for everyone - never think that Coaches follow some sort of "Rules" that are carved in stone. There are almost no Rules, and no one or two or five things that prove a bag is genuine. Just like what I said about style numbers, almost every common "rule" anyone has ever heard about Coach is going to have some exceptions, and most have changed completely over the course of time.
