Hi Starry,

Thank you! :hugs: I also think that it'll not be the bag I'd be receiving because she has sold 3 times with the same pics. Judging from her FB, looks like all of the buyers are happy though. Do you think I should ask for the exact pics of the bag? I have been looking for a good deal on a berry/teal sabrina, and looks like she has plenty :p

Thanks a lot!

Yes, you should ask her to send you pictures of the actual bag. Since this bag is not in the same condition as the others (NWOT instead of NWT), the seller should have updated the auction with pictures of the actual bag. I'd want to know if there are any signs of wear or any marks on the inside or outside.

So I've debated about even returning to the forum... Mostly because this has turned me off to the whole idea of posting. But I realized that I enjoy reading/commenting/sharing others' happiness too much to quit.

I can admit that I was wrong about the whole fake/authentic thing. I can admit that I probably shouldn't have gotten excited about spotting what I thought was a weird origin/creed/number and jumped the gun. Trust me, that won't happen again.

I'd like it if you could admit that maybe you were overzealous when chastizing my mistake. (We've all started somewhere...) I have seen that you can be polite to others about the same subject from recent posts, so I guess I would appreciate it if you could admit that bold/caps/attitude/definitions was a little excessive. To be honest (and I'm not too great with admitting things like this) it kinda hurt my feelings. I've had a  day since the whole ordeal. I think that I felt weird all day was what made me realize I want to continue with tPF.

Sorry for all the emotions. I need to drown myself in chocolate because this has been a WEIRD day.

Please note that this thread is for authentication questions and answers only. If anyone has any issues with another member, please take it to PM.

Also, please do not post that a bag is fake or real here unless you are absolutely sure. Reports of authentic bags being fake can cause a lot if issues for innocent sellers, just as a fake bag being inaccurately called real can be traumatic for a buyer.

Thanks everyone!

So I already know the answer, but I want to show the seller what the experts think.
ebay listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120452631606&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123 for a legacy bag from 2007...
creed attached for a non-legacy bag from 2002...

The creed, lining, and details of the bag are wrong. The creed indicates a bag from 2002 and it's impossible for a bag from 2002 to have Legacy Stripe lining. Hopefully the seller will end the auction because the bag is not authentic.

The C's, turnlock mounting and turnlock are all too small on the fake, the serial # is wrong, and I don't think that bag came in black - the quality of the suede is also much richer on the real one. THIS is what the REAL style 11135 is supposed to look like:

Coachie, we all make mistakes when we're new, and I've made some real boners myself. I'm sorry if I came down on you so hard.

If you really love Coach and want to learn, don't just look at the newer bags. Get to know the old ones too, even if they're not your style. Coach has been making bags since at least the early 60s - there are huge differences in Coaches over the years and what holds true for one year and one type of fashion can change totally over just a few years. When you see a style or a style number you're not familiar with, instead of guessing, go to Ebay and try to find it. You'd be amazed at what you can learn just by doing an Advanced Search on Ebay for a style number you're questioning, and you may even find a fake or two with the same number.

And it wouldn't hurt reading the last 8 or 10 pages in the Answers To Authenticity Questions thread if you want to learn some of the basics about serial numbers and things like "rules". Coach over the years is a complicated subject and no one can be expected to know everything at once. Most of the regulars here probably have a minimum of three or four years in buying, selling and studying Coach. It's not as tough as Med School but it takes time, effort and plenty of computer space to save numbers, specs and photos so that you have your own reference library.

The most important thing to remember is "If you don't know it, try to find it. If that doesn't work, don't hesitate to ask" and "the most important Rule is that Coach changes the Rules constantly and there's an exception to almost every one."

Welcome to Coach and tPF! :smile1:

Thanks Hyacinth and starrymaz for your authentication help! Looks like she finally took it down.

The seller also lists a Guess, a "Valentina" and "Dooney", I hope someone here can check those too:
http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/jonathan_avila1987

Here's the "Coach" in case it vanishes:

That has to be one of the fugliest Foaches I've ever seen! The Dooney isn't close or detailed enough to determine authenticity. Dooney does make a similar style but there isn't enough information to know whether Dooney made this seller's item.
