Hmmmm,

I just found an item on ebay that has the same serial number as the one I just posted!? Does that automatically mean both mine and it are fakes?

They are even the same purse, just slightly different colors??

YIKES!?

As Hyacinth said, since 1994 serial numbers are not unique and hundreds of bags can have the same serial number if they are the same style made in the same month in the same plant.

The pouch in the auction looks good and so does your pouch.

Which online site did you see these wallets at? Almost every site claiming to sell Coach or other designer bags at a discount, at "wholesale", or to be selling irregulars or overstocks is selling fakes. Amazon has a large number of fakes and iOffer is almost ALL fakes. Coach does NOT sell to "wholesalers", discount websites, small internet or Brick & mortar stores, or any other second- or third-tier sellers - most of them are selling cheap bad fakes drop-shipped right from the Chinese counterfeiters and distributors. Coach only sells to their retail department store partners like Macy's, Dillards, etc and to a VERY few known volume liquidators and to discount "last stops" like Marshall's and TJ Maxx. Never never NEVER buy any designer items from any website advertising wholesale or discount prices wihout asking here first.

Those wallets were not found in any of the sites you mentioned. It is in one of those blog sites selling coach stuff in BP mode i think

I would NOT buy something as easily faked as a wallet from a blog site. You have no way to check on the honesty of the seller, and no way to get a refund unless the seller takes Paypal (I would not trust that kind of seller with my credit card number!). You're much safer looking for a seller on Ebay where you have some kind of buyer protection.

Hi Hyacinth,

I was sorely tempted to buy from this site I mentioned earlier because the photos of the actual products on the seller looked good and the linings of bags are a in lovely pastel shades of satin blue, pink that similar to the lining colour of my coach bags. (I bought mine from coach outlets) Prices are alot cheaper than outlet prices though.

Also there was no bad reviews on the seller based on the BPs the seller has in another forum for several months based on what I could find & shipments are to singapore from the US.

Yet, somewhere else i think you mentioned that singapore has alot of counterfeits..?

That should make you suspicious. Sometimes the outlet price marked on a tag might be further reduced by additional percentages, but it's not always the case. If the seller has lots of items for so much cheaper from outlet prices, I'd question where they're coming from.

(Sometimes you can find limited quantities and styles of items on clearance at other legit retailers such as Macy's, Bloomingdales, TJ Maxx, etc., but when the prices are reduced to "giveaway" levels, the items tend to fly out of the store. There's no way sellers are going to be able to get sizable quantities, so sellers with lots of cheap items, supposedly on sale should raise a red flag in your mind.)

Hi BeenBurned,

Thanks for pointing this out. :) When I mean cheaper than outlet prices actually, the cost of buying direct from Coach in US is alot cheaper than here in coach outlets in my country in comparison probably 'coz of taxes imposed. I think its why BPs are specifically catered for this with probably some profit margins in between?

And Coach in US including their partners do not ship overseas sadly :(

Many times the people buying fakes don't even realize that they ARE fake. I've seen many Ebay sellers who have sold 20, 50 and even more than 100 fakes and who have perfect Feedback.

And just because someone may sell genuine purses, that doesn't mean their wallets (or keychains) are genuine. Many sellers of fake wallets sell genuine bags since they can buy fake wallets very cheap and sell them for a large profit without worrying that the buyers will realize that they are fake. And someone who buys a fake purse is more likely to complain than someone who buys a wallet.

I don't know if Singapore has more fakes than other countries in that part of Asia, but any country that is within easy shipping distance of China probably has a lot of fakes, since the shorter shipping distance means lower costs and more profit to the makers and distributors of fake merchandise. There may be tax benefits too if the import taxes between China and nearby countries are lower than other parts of the world. Even Australia sees a large percentage of Chinese-made fakes. (And yes, I know that fakes also are made in other countries, but China is still the King of Fakes and will stay that way for a very long time).

Yup got to agree china is really king for alot of AAA grade products.
