p.s.- the flash makes the bag look gray-ish, but it is actually completely black.

The wallet's fake too.

Thanks Hyacinth! That's what I thought, too, although the seller swears up and down that it's real.

Oh dear. This is another one of those very "realistic" looking fake Carlys that we've been warning people about. This one is one of the "better" made fakes. By "better" I mean that the counterfeiters have managed to more closely replicate certain details such as the creed and the price tag. However, that is a FAKE price tag. There certain things on that price tag that give it away as fake. The creed is off too. The fabric of the bag doesn't look right and neither does the leather trim. Could you please post pictures of the hardware details on the sides of the bag? If the wallet came with the bag, then it is most likely a fake as well, but I'd like Hyacinth to take a look at the wallet. Did you buy this bag on ebay? If so, you should start the process of getting your money back because this bag is fake.

Thanks so much for your quick answer Starrymaz! I will post the pics of the hardware detail when I get a chance. I thought the fabric was off as well, but like I said, the seller swore that both items were authentic, so I went ahead and bought it. I will start work to get my money back now!

Thanks again ladies :)

I found an older Coach handbag at a School Sale and was wondering if it is worth anything any more? It appears to be original and has the serial number 202-10. Anyone have any idea how old it is? The guarantee says its made of Glove Tanned Cowhide and is a simple style in black with brass fittings. I was wondering what I could do to recondition and/or polish it so it looks newer. It looks like it may be up to 25-30 years old.

I love this little handbag but the seller said there is no Coach Creed on the interior. I thought all the Coach handbags, excpet for the pouches, had a Creed on the interior.
Does anyone know if this bag is genuine or what the style number is?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260305421452

We've talked about creeds many times before.

I copied these from an Ebay Forum:

"Not all Coach "accessories" like Swingpacks, wristlets and Pouches will have creed patches or serial numbers !!!

Some will have the full inside patch including a serial number, some will have a patch with just the creed statement and NO number, and some will have NOTHING AT ALL inside.
There are absolutely NO "rules" about which have what, it's completely at Coach's whim. Not having a creed patch DOES NOT MEAN THE ITEM IS FAKE! And sometimes an item that had a patch when it was sold in the full-price stores may be re-made for the outlets without a patch..."

and this:

"Regarding the question about creeds, Coach is inconsistent (understatement of the year) so there are no hard and fast rules.

But here are some general statements:
Some swingpacks have creeds with serial numbers
Some swingpacks have creeds without serial numbers
Some swingpacks have NO creeds at all
Some pouches have creeds with serial numbers
Some pouches have creeds without serial numbers
Some pouches have don't have creeds
Most wristlets don't have creeds, though some might have them, with or without serial numbers

I'm sure that's about as clear as mud! But they're determined to keep us guessing."

I hope that explains it. And instead of asking your seller for the possibly nonexistant creed photo, ask for a pic of the inside of the price tag.

I'm wondering about one of the seller's other listings, something about the Lurex Mini Skinny bothers me... besides the fact that this is a new seller.

Sorry, the bag is fake, and so is the serial number. Coach NEVER used 5-digit numbers and never made bags in Korea. And if you don't believe me maybe someone else will verify that.

Angelonia_Anne, I know you're new to this forum and probably still figuring your way around here, but there's no need to post this same question 5 times in various places around here. You've already been told by Hyacinth and DemRam (who definitely know the older bags) that this bag is fake, and I agree with them.
