OOOps, sorry. I'll try again.

Here is the picture of the creed. I think the wallet is fake because I compared it to the one on COACH website and they are not the same. The purse looks okay but what do you guys think of the creed? Anyway, I am canceling this transaction. But pls let me know if the creed is alright. Thanks so much.

I don't think the stamping on the creed is right for an '07 bag but I don't own that style, and I'm not familiar with the stitching on the sides either. But I do own the wallet though and I'm sure that one's fake.

They also sold a bag with a "free" wallet, and this wallet was fake too - 180238134290

Will you have any problem getting a refund?

Would you guys give this a peek? I think this one is real to my eyes based on what I see and the seller's history.

Sorry for the bump, I'm starting to get buried. :)

I am 99.9% certain this is a reputable seller by the pictures, the feedback she has given and received, and by looking at her listings....but I am a noob. Could you experts give it a gander? I am holding on paying her based on your expertise. I hope she is legit because she seems outstanding and her selection is great. NAYY.

HUGE TIA!
Melissa

I read somewhere that in the number abbreviation on the creed ... "N0" ..... that the line under the 0 ... "0" ... should not come farther down than the middle of the "N" ... not at the bottom of the "N". I don't know if this is true but it is certainly the case in #3. (see attached) Also there is a large gap after the first set of numbers and the dash and the stitching at the top of the creed looks to be double stitched. I don't know if any of this means anything but maybe this is what she saw???
I'm just guessing :confused1:

this is exactly one of the things I saw. also this bag's hangtag doesn't have a grommet. I think the leather hangtags are supposed to unless this is an exception

I'd be interested in hearing what Hyacinth thinks, as she knows a lot about the older bags.

Oh...I was wondering if that might be the case but I would rather be safe that sorry. Also is the C2J Correct? Unless it was made in 92 shuldnt it say 02? or not?

What's true on Coaches today isn't necessarily true on Coaches from a few years ago or older. The creed for #3 is fine, and Coach didn't start using metal grommets on their hangtags as a regular thing until somewhere around '03 going by the catalogs I have. The year code in the serial # shows 2002, there hasn't been and there won't be an 02 year code until 2102.

About things like where the underscores and dashes and gaps are supposed to be in the creeds - there WAS no exact standard up until the last few years - every plant started out with it's own dies and templates, and it's perfectly normal for them to be different. Some Ebay posters can even tell what country a "classic" bag was made in by the creed font and format and the spacing of the serial number digits. So don't read too much into it if an earlier bag, say before 2004, has a creed that's a bit different, although someone here should still take a look at it to be sure.

Don't depend on "rules", Coach changes the rules as they go, and for every rule except maybe one or two there's an exception or at least a disagreement.

Oh really? Thanks for letting me know! I just wanted to get a couple because I bought 2 purses which didnt come with dust bags for some reason. :/

I understand completely. I just wanted you to know that if you bid on one, someone could report the seller to Ebay and they could pull the listing.

Also, there ARE fake dustbags for sale on Ebay, I've seen them on the same slimy sites where fake bags are sold. So you need to be sure of your seller before buying from her.

Hyacinth and Starrymaz....Your experiences and knowledge base are just INVALUABLE to this naive rookie! Thanks:flowers:
