Coach mainly manufactures in China now. The bag looks real to me.

Ok - I told her that I found websites saying they made in China - she wasnt buying it. None of her other coaches say made in china so shes convinced they are not. Shes already been on the phone to Coach. She said all the hardware looks cheap compared to her others. The bag looks the same to me as the one in the auction.

I will try to convince her that it is real.

If you could post pictures of the bag, that would be helpful. She may have older Coach bags. That may be why none of hers say made in China. However, now nearly all Coach bags are made in China. The signature stripe tote doesn't have much hardware anyway and it's a very lightweight bag. Please post pics, if you have them.

RE: the above... I sent an e-mail requesting the creed from the seller on this purse. No response. Since she has several for sale (which I think is odd) I asked for a creed on any of the Tattersalls... again No Response.

Don't you guys find that wierd for an authentic seller? Or am I just being paranoid? Also, these are going for above retail!

Someone else posted this about this seller in the "Reputable Coach Sellers on eBay?" thread:

It seems that this seller has a habit of never responding, which is IMO, not very good business practice if she wants to generate more sales. My policy is "No Response = No Sale" - it just doesn't make sense not to respond to potential buyers, even if the items are authentic. If the seller won't extend the courtesy to answer buyers' questions, I say it's best to look elsewhere.

Thank you Starrymaz! I agree. Even if they do only sell Coach products, that doesn't necessarily mean they're real! They may be selling to people who don't know the difference, KWIM?

Besides, if I get no response on the front end - I figure what happens if there's a problem. And with them all selling at or above MSRP (+shipping) I think I'd rather get one from a boutique, store or outlet than take a chance.

Thank you again!

If she doesn't believe you, take it to a boutique.

I think this one is good. It's an outlet bag, but looks pretty good.

Thanks guancia. I had heard or read that the hangtag should always be the same color as the fabric or leather. The lavendar was throwing me off. How do you know it is an outlet bag? The red on the box? It didn't show up in the drilldown, so I thought maybe that was why. Thanks for your reply.:smile1:

Looks good to me.

The pattern is different on every bag, from what I remember. Look at the ones for sale:

Even better, take HER to a Coach boutique so she can read the creed patches for herself.

Coach made an effort in the late 90s to make their bags a bit lighter by reducing the weight of some of the components. Even the "classic" leather bags now being made that are the continuation of the old styles like the Willis, the City Bag, the Station Bag, etc are using lighter hardware and leathers, which is why I don't buy much Coach any more. Oh, and even those "classic" leather bags are now made in China.

Coach also made bags in the mid and late 90s in Turkey, Italy, the Dominican Republic, Hungary, and Costa Rica, so the US is NOT the only place Coach was ever made, and even back then a few travel and business bags and accessories were being outsourced to China.

This looks good, but I've never seen this bag in the U.S. It may have been a line made specifically for the Asian market. It looks like a current season bag, possibly the Hamptons Signature Pocket Flap. :shrugs:

thks starrymaz... i tried the drilldown and on the net ...seems there's nothing on style 11950...can anyone else help to confirm this bag? i luv its style ...:confused1:
