Thank you, Hyacinth!! :smile1:
A strange case. I bought this charm at the Coach store, and sold it on EBay this week. the buyer accuses it of being counterfeit, because this one is not identical to the picture of what is being shown on Coach, although both have the same SKU.

I'm attaching my ebay post, and the receipt from the coach store. is there ANY way this could have been a counterfeit, given that i bought it from the store? and if not, why would be so different looking from what they're showing now? my receipt says silver/gold tearose, but neither my buyer nor I see any 'gold' in; it looks pretty much silver. i don't buy bag charms much, so really am "at sea" here.

I will also ask the sales assistant in my store for an explanation, once the buyer returns it, but i'm so curious now as to what is going on!!! she's reported me to ebay, to coach, etc, as a seller of counterfeits.

interesting, apropos of the tea-rose, as i look at my own photo on ebay, it does look somewhat goldish in part. but in person it does not, the entire charm looks silver. i'm wondering now whether the Coach photo [not sure i'm allowed to attach it?] is really the same, looks more gold in the photo than in real life, an that's what is throwing my buyer to accuse me of selling fake?

Any info on this keychain? Authentic?

I can't imagine it NOT being authentic. The level of detail is amazing, probably better than any other metal Coach keychain I've ever seen, like the 2 different metal colors on the hangtags. It was probably a limited edition or maybe a special promotional gift for Coach's 65th Anniversary. It's new to me too but whoever bought it got a real keeper, and at a great price.

Ugh! I hate when buyers play ebay police without knowing what they're talking about!

The keychain is absolutely authentic. Stock photos are sometimes different from the final item as changes might be made, colors might be changed, hardware or stitching could vary in color or style.

And if her complaint is a difference in color, that can be a result of lighting, flash, camera quality or the fact that different monitors might make different colors appear to vary from one seller's picture to another seller's picture.

But bottom line is that if a good buyer has concerns, she should approach the seller before opening disputes and reporting to manufacturers!

Feel free to refer your buyer here if she has questions.

And regarding going to Coach with your concerns, I advise against it. Admitting to Coach that you bought an item for resale is a way to find yourself banned from doing business with Coach. (They ban those they consider to be resellers.)

ETA: As further proof that stock photos CAN and do often have differences from the final product is just one example below. In fact, many of the fakes look like the stock photo since the counterfeiters don't know that Coach made the change in color placement.

thank you. actually i didnt buy in order to resell; i bought it and used, and it just was too jingly for me, so decided to sell. but i guess Coach wouldnt appreciate the subtlety?

i approved a return, so the buyer is returning it. i'm just annoyed that she is "reporting" it to the authorities as a counterfeit when in fact it isn't!!! i wish there were a way to prove it. i might still go to the Coach store i bought it from and ask them about the SKU number, and why theirs on the Coach website looks so different in the photo from mine.

Keep in mind that Coach uses professional photographers with fancy cameras, props and lighting that will make its pictures look perfect.

However in fact, I do see that your keychain is gold and silver just as shown in Coach's stock photo. Your lighting just doesn't show it as well.

yes, i agree, but in person mine does not have that 'gold' tinge at all; it really looks silver. i wonder if the one in the coach store shows any 'gold' in person, or whether it too loses its gold sheen under ordinary light. i guess i need to pay the coach store a visit.

Several people on tpf have bought this fob. You could ask in the fob clubhouse.

Feeling rusty. Is this messenger/laptop bag authentic? Any additional info needed?

Thank you so much!

Good afternoon,

Could someone please authenticate the two purses, both purchased on eBay from the same seller, sanbridge:

Bag 1 was listed as "Vintage Shoulder Bag", but I assume it's Derby. Appr. size is 7" x 8", strap drop 26". Pictures:

Bag 2, listed as "Red Leather Clutch". It appears unused and has care card inside tattersall lined kisslock change pocket. The only thing I could figure out from the card that the wristlet was made in 2007, and it's made of "polished calf leather", but I still don't know the name. Pictures:

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi. Sorry I was the one who posted photos of the bramble rose wristlet a few pages back.. It comes in a box and a dustbag as attached in the photo. Just wondering if the paper bag, dustbag, and the box looks authentic to you ladies?

Thank you !!ImageUploadedByPurseForum1458587900.595970.jpg
