And then these smaller accessories that don't have creed patches but do all have the appropriate "Made In" tags sewn into seams. The black one has it's original hang tag but the white one had none so I added the metal tag from another dead bag. Does the gray patent leather one have a real name?

This one also seems like it might have an actual name, or at least be part of a style line?

This one also has a replacement hang tag that I added. I only mention this because while obviously tags can be added/changed, most of these smaller accessories have no identifying brand marks other than I'm pretty sure they are authentic Coach.

Please authenticate, if you can tell with the not so great creed photo. The strap grommets seem to be brass in some photos and then silver in others. Unless the lighting is playing tricks? Thanks!

I'm seeing silver grommets and silver feet.

I can't read the serial number (though thought it might be 308-9875, a known fake).

The creed seems to be stamped way down from the zipper.

I see silver too. I'm pretty sure it is fake but I wouldn't feel comfortable reporting it without a clearer picture of the creed. The cartouche doesn't look right.

Definitely fake, the cartouche is too big. But I agree about needing to see a serial number photo. Most of the 308-9875 ones I've seen say "Made in U.S.A." instead of Made in the United States.

Could someone please authenticate this Coach bag?
I've had an amazingly lucky day at a local thrift known for estate clean-outs…this and 2 Fendi's (hopefully) for $1 apiece!!! This store has NEVER been known for purses :)
Approx. 9.5"w x 8"h x 3"d. Handle 8.75" end to end. Strap 21.75" incl. clips to rings.
1996 (officiallly vintage this month!) Court Bag #9870 yes? It looks brand new!
Thanks in advance, as always!

beautiful color!

I once got a Fendi for $5.

Do you mean the creed, or the serial number? They're two separate stamping processes.

I don't see any stamping problems with the creed. The serial number has "overstamping" impressions where the previous and next numbers in the sequence were partly stamped but that's fairly normal in pre-China bags. So is a tilted or off-center serial number. Remember, all of this stamping was done by hand and variations were perfectly normal. There's nothing wrong with the bag. Probably one-fourth of classic and vintage leather bags will have small quirks in the serial number stamp.
Do you find that this bag would be authentic based on the pictures shown?

Comments: The Coach creed has a double print on it, as if it wasn't imprinted cleanly. The numbers are not in a complete straight line.

It looks remarkably good! At least to my untrained eye, but after inspecting the creed closer, the double imprint is what really stood out to me.

Thank you in advance :)

Yes, the bag is authentic. If it weren't, she would have said so.
