I can't comment on the authenticity of the listing, but I can tell you that you can find this exact bag for much less on ebay now.
Want to buy but unsure?? Is it authentic, is it too much money?

Good grief! Hostility? seriously?

Her post was here, followed by my response and Hyacinth's, neither of which would I consider the least bit hostile!
http://forum.purseblog.com/coach/id-this-coach-item-post-any-coach-item-355205-696.html#post29575337

First of all, based on her post recommending us to "check out the listing," I inferred that it might be her own listing. There was no accusation or rudeness; just a question. But instead of rudeness, Hyacinth's comment should have given this newbie a heads up on
TPF rules because admin will ban members for advertising and/or authenticating their own items. (It's in the rules.)

I also expressed a very valid aversion to auction listings with private bidding. Having been on ebay, TPF and other auction sites for years, I've seen countless cases where sellers hid shill bidding, sales of fakes and a host of other violations in private listings.

For innocuous items like handbags and wallets, I (personally) see no valid reason for private listings unless something questionable is going on behind the scenes.

As for this person being a former Coach employee, why would she have needed to "authenticate" her item if she knew it came from Coach? That points to another reason why it would point to self-promotion.

Note that in other brands subforums here on TPF, they'll ignore requests that aren't posted in the correct place, aren't posting in the required format, are posted with missing required pics and they won't authenticate for sellers.

Here in Coach, I think we're very lenient. All we request of sellers is that you have an item purchased on the secondary market and want confirmation of authenticity, just post pictures and don't mention selling.

To be accused of being hostile is hurtful and unfair. For the amount of time, research and expertise we contribute without ANY compensation from anyone, it frustrates me to no end when I'm accused of not coddling.
OMG!! that is so BIZARRE! She bought an item from me last week & asked me a few hours ago what I thought about the wallet. I told her Wallets are tricky & I am not comfortable advising her. I told her about TPF, that was around 330 pm EST-4 hours ago TODAY! She didn't say she had already joined & asked for help..
Apparently She already knew about TPF & had already tried to get an authentication..HA!:nogood: That is Not what she told me..I was busy rehabbing bags,& getting my last minute items listed. So shejust wasted my time too..
I told her I didn't see her recent post & she prob was on the wrong forum because COACH Forum & AUTHENTICATORS are WONDERFUL and would be WELCOMING to a Newbie. So...I was Duped, totally. :pullhair: Is that HER listing? I have no clue, but it appears she is a not telling the TRUTH about anything.
I'm so glad you sent me the posts. I wonder what she is playing at? Actually I don't care, I don't have time for this. There was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING Hostile or Negative in Hyacinth's or your response..you both are Fantastic in my opinion~and you both know(you DO KNOW!) that I appreciate your hard work. I've been around for awhile & you both know how much I appreciate your responses& the chats we have had over the years.
That is why I thought she most likely posted a question at a LESS LENIENT (Hermes or GUCCI ??forum where HELP is NOT available !
What can I say? I don't know her. I'm sorry it happened but what do I know?really?
Thank you for everything & thank you for responding with THE WHOLE STORY! GEEZ LOUISE...:shrugs:
ALL THE BEST TO YOU & HYACINTH & anyone else who was involved in this BS. CHEERS! Sheri

I suspected you didn't see her post. That's why I included it in my response.

It's too bad when someone puts an innocent party (you) in the middle.

Again, as you can see, neither of us was rude or hostile. But we're often accused of it when posters don't like the responses they receive.

Also, BB- I have absolutely positively nothing to do with this wallet listing or the person who posted the query. . She bought an item from me & told me about working for COACH in the 1990s. But it could very well be that it IS HER LISTING. She did not send me a link to the wallet-ONLY the Item number..hmmm,,VellY Interestink-But Stupid(of me) My friend sent me a mug that says
"..Stop Me Before I Volunteer...AGAIN! " I should heed the message.

Has anyone ever seen anything like this? The tassel and hardware aren't like anything I've ever seen.

(The seller claims to have purchased from a full price Coach store a couple of years ago.)
I've never seen anything like that. The parts don't really go together. I've seen a jeweled hangtag but it was different from that. I've never seen a jeweled dogleash clip. I've been collecting keychains for the last three or four years so if it came out during that time and was available in the US, I think I would remember it.

Thank you! I just saw your new pup ...so adorable. I lost my Dog & Cat this year & I am so ready to go to the Humane Society to adopt someone furry & friendly:kitty::doggie::fox:

Same here.

Please authenticate this bag if possible. I'm curious about the style name and approximate date of manufacture if it's authentic. Thank you!

Item: Women's Coach Vintage Black Leather Shoulder Bag

Really lousy pictures! It might be an early version of the dinky bag. I'd want to see what the sides look like where the clips attach. Based on the Coach imprint, it looks like it is from the early 70s.

I got the same impression as you when you replied to her first post. That was definitely an attempt to send members to her listing.

So along with breaking an important forum rule right off the bat, she wasted SheriDahlin's time AND lied about how her question was handled. Charming. :graucho:

The first one is authentic. There aren't enough decent pictures of the ergo for me to have an opinion.
