I do see a difference in lining colors.... You would not believe how good this bag looks. I haven't had a question that I couldn't answer or guess correctly and come here to be confirmed, in years....The only ones that really get me are the oldies with lots of experience. The new ones are easy. Thank you for your help,

That one you're asking about is authentic.

Your bag wasn't even made in 1998, the year it would have supposedly been made according to the serial number on the creed.

Refer to post #1 of the thread for the required posting format for future authentication requests.

You really need to have items authenticated before buying/listing them.

All are authentic.

Thanks, BeenBurned!

The Swingpack and wallet both look ok. The wallet looks like one of the many Polished Calfskin Compact Clutch versions they've made over the years, something similar to the full-price style 8612 below since yours doesn't have the patent leather edges. But that's the only version for which I have any photos.

Thanks, Hyacinth...and for the photo, even though it's a cousin :)

I see that, finding a "real" one. I did find another with the black lining, so there must be quite a few around. I agree that it is not real, and that is why I come here if I have the slightest feeling of fake. I've been authenticating bags for 18 years. Hence me coming here. I don't appreciate your tone, but I may be just extra sensitive this morning.

Why would you edit and remove your post? It's educational to others who can learn from your mistake!

Your bag demonstrates precisely one of the reasons why we're so adamantly opposed to "experts" who advise to "google the style number" and if the bag is the same style as the pictures that come up, then it's authentic.

And this is the perfect example of a "good" fake. The style (seemingly) matches what it's supposed to look like, the style number on the creed is "correct" and many of the details seem right to an UNTRAINED eye.

I hope you can return the bag to whoever sold it to you.

Here's another difference that might easily be missed without close scrutiny. Notice how rough and uneven the stitching and seams are? And see the puckering on yours?

Black station bag

I've had this in my possession for over a year now, I purchased it off of Poshmark, so I know it could very well be a fake.

The creed and the back of the turnlock are what is leading me to believe it might not be authentic.

When we speak of problems with the back of the turnlock, it is usually with the female part. I don't see any problems with the bag in your pictures. I already told you the creed is fine.

The 3 basic bags are fine. For color, ask the seller to look at the back of pocket where it isn't faded, and to put something black next to it.

The last bag is fake.

Thanks!

1- ok. Black shoulder straps are easy to find although they're not cheap

2- ok, notice the "smells slightly vintage" comment

3- ok, all Basic Bags

4- FAKE FAKE FAKE, every single piece of hardware is completely wrong, So is the leather texture and the strap and there's no creed or serial number. There's NOTHING right about that POS.

seller " sje777 " should NOT be depended on to recognise a fake, even one as bleedin' obvious as this one.

I am trying to see if this bag is real, bought from a friend and I am not sure because of the "C" lining inside, I have heard that if it has that it is fake.

The bag is fake and your "friend" owes you a refund. (Real friends don't rip of friends.)

Some bags do have signature lining but this isn't one of them and this lining isn't in any authentic item.

Thanks, whateve! My fingers are crossed for black, but we'll see..

Thank you, Hyacinth! Hmm, "slightly vintage" smell... Good to know about the strap, too. I'll keep my eye out.

And thank you BOTH for catching number 4! it raised flags for me, but I'm still a total newbie when it comes to Coach. Thanks for verifying! Went to report the bag, but it looks as though it's already gone.
