Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

When ebay suspends a seller, it's not the seller who ends the listing(s) but it's ebay who does it.

I'm not sure whether you're able to open a NAD (not as described) claim through the order if the seller is suspended but if you are able, do so.

In the dropdown box, choose "return this item," and click on "not as described or pictured."

The seller will have 3 days to respond with either a refund or a prepaid return shipping label. (For a Chinese seller, they have to send you the money BEFORE you return the item because they aren't able to send a USPS label. They can send it through Paypal or Venmo. DO NOT depend on a Chinese seller who promises to reimburse postage to do so because they will not do it.)

If they don't respond to the case or issue a refund without a return, go back to the case on day 4 and ask ebay to step in. They will issue your refund.

If you aren't able to dispute through ebay, go to your payment source - bank, credit card, Paypal - and file a dispute for the counterfeit item.

The bag shown in the listing is authentic but like so many other Japanese sellers, chatran does have a history of mixing.

There have been more fakes that haven't been posted on the Hall of Shame.

You know, I don't know what the story is with Japanese sellers. I can't tell whether they consider themselves experts and great judges of authenticity, if they know what they're peddling and expect buyers to blindly trust them because they're from Japan or if they truly got scammed by manufacturers of fakes.

But the fact is that the quantitie of Korean made fakes, other fakes that copy vintage and classic styles and the proliferation of newer fakes with bogus receipts and paperwork combined with the fact that when listings are removed multiple times from one seller and the same item with the same pictures get posted by other sellers tells me that they cannot possibly be as naive as they want us to believe.

I started this thread 5.5 years ago and started down a rabbit hole that I would still be in if I hadn't given up. And although it's been years, the numbers did not dwindle. In fact, they've increased exponentially.

I’m not sure either. I’m surprised about the fakes and them still trying to resell them even after being notified they are fake. I had a high level of trust in them before due to the info that punishment for selling counterfeit items was severe in Japan. But apparently some have still been able to sell counterfeit items. My trust has gone down significantly thanks to you and the other amazing Authenticators that have shown some of the items are fake. Thank you for all that you have done. I appreciate your help. And please know that you are appreciated for all that you do as well as the other Authenticators. I would feel horrible not only spending money on a fake item but also carrying it around. You all are amazing!!!!!!!!
